Shifting a road view based on a speed for a vehicle

Embodiments are disclosed for shifting a road view of a display for a vehicle. For one embodiment, a system determines a vehicle has come to a standstill. Upon determining that the vehicle has come to a standstill, the system automatically shifts a display of a first view for the vehicle to a second view. The system determines the vehicle is in motion after being in a standstill. Upon determining that the vehicle is in motion after being in a standstill, the system automatically shifts a display of the second view for the vehicle back to the first view. For one embodiment, the first view includes a third-person view and the second view includes an overhead view.

Parking Assist System For A Vehicle And Method Of Using The Same

A parking assist system and method that uses one or more cameras on the side of a vehicle to provide modified video output to an electronic display unit that can assist a driver with parallel parking. The modified video output provides the driver with real time visual feedback of the position of the vehicle, with respect to a curb or other barrier, and may also indicate if the current position is compliant with local parking regulations, as determined based on the vehicle's current location. The modified video output includes one or more visual indicators that may be graphically superimposed over top of the video output from the side camera so that the driver can see in real time when the vehicle is or is not lawfully parallel parked.

Vehicular visibility support apparatus

In a vehicular visibility support apparatus, a camera positioned on a front portion that is either the left side or the right side of a vehicle provides an image of a view laterally behind the vehicle including a part of a face of the side of the vehicle as a camera image. An input portion accepts input manipulation to generate an input signal. A control portion trims a desired region in the camera image based on the input signal and provides a trimmed image. The control portion trims the camera image based on: a vertical reference line including a part of the face on the side of the vehicle in a trimmed image before the input manipulation is accepted by the input portion, and a horizontal reference line orthogonal to the vertical reference line; and a direction of movement for change to the desired region inputted to the input portion.

Movable carrier auxiliary system

A movable carrier auxiliary system includes at least two optical image capturing systems respectively disposed on a left portion and a right portion of a movable carrier. Each optical image capturing system includes an image capturing module, an operation module, at least one warning module, and at least one displaying device, and has at least one lens group including at least two lenses having refractive power. The image capturing module captures and produces an environmental image surrounding the movable carrier. The operation module electrically connected to the image capturing module detects at least one moving object in the environmental image to generate a detecting signal. The warning module electrically connected to the operation module receives the detecting signal, and generates a warning signal when determines that the moving object approach to the movable carrier. The displaying device is electrically connected to the warning module to display the warning signal.

Drive assist device

A drive assist device includes a display that displays an image around a vehicle imaged by an imaging device installed on the vehicle, a setting unit that sets a target designated by a user on the image as a recognition target, a detection unit that detects a state change of the recognition target on the image in a case where the recognition target is set, and a notification control unit that controls a notification device to notify the user of the detection result in a case where the state change of the set recognition target is detected.

A display image is obtained in accordance with a deviation of a viewpoint position of a driver from a reference viewpoint position, on the basis of a captured image obtained by capturing an image on a rear side from a vehicle. The reference viewpoint position is updated on the basis of a long-term fluctuation of the viewpoint position. For example, the reference viewpoint position is not updated when a line-of-sight of the driver is in a certain region including a display unit that displays a display image. For example, when a viewpoint position of the driver enters a certain region corresponding to a seated state, there is registered, as an initial reference viewpoint position, a viewpoint position of the driver in a case where a line-of-sight of the driver is continuously present for a certain period of time on the display unit that displays a display image.

DISPLAY CONTROLLER

A display controller includes: an image generator configured to generate a three-dimensional image of surroundings of a vehicle and output a display image; an instruction determiner configured to determine an instruction of a user in accordance with a position operated by the user; and a viewpoint changer configured to change a viewpoint parameter related to generation of the three-dimensional image on a basis of the instruction of the user, wherein the instruction determiner sets a plurality of regions corresponding to different viewpoint parameters in the display image, the instruction determiner determines the instruction of the user on a basis of a region where the position operated by the user, the viewpoint changer changes the viewpoint parameter in accordance with the instruction of the user, and the instruction determiner sets the plurality of regions in the three-dimensional image after a change.

Display controlling device and display controlling method

A display controlling device includes a position detecting unit for detecting a position of the head of a driver and a position of an eye of the driver; a region adjusting unit for adjusting the position of a region, to be displayed on a display, in an outside image, depending on the detection result by the position detecting unit; and a display controlling unit for displaying, on the display, a region corresponding to the region of the position adjusted by the region adjusting unit. When there is a change in the position of the head so as to move in both the vertical direction in the crosswise direction of the vehicle, the region adjusting unit prevents adjustment of the position of the region to a position corresponding to the change, in the vertical direction, of the position of the eye, and adjusts the position of the region to a position corresponding to a change in the position of the eye in the crosswise direction and/or the front/rear direction.
