Vehicular display system

A vehicular display system shows a view image including a blind area with superior visibility. Embodiments include an imaging unit that captures an image of a surrounding area of a vehicle; an image processing unit that converts the image into a view image of the surrounding area of the vehicle seen from inside a cabin; and a display unit. The image processing unit generates a rear-view image acquired when an area behind the vehicle is seen from a first virtual viewpoint located in the cabin, and a front-view image acquired when an area in front of the vehicle is seen from a second virtual viewpoint located behind the first virtual viewpoint in the cabin. The display unit shows the rear-view image when the vehicle travels backward, the front-view image when the vehicle travels forward, and shows both of the view images at substantially the same angle of view.

DANGER NOTIFICATION METHOD, DANGER NOTIFICATION DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

A first object approaching a vehicle in a first direction and a second object approaching the vehicle in a second direction are detected. In response to detection of the first object and the second object, the first object is notified about the presence of the second object by using a notification device, and the second object is notified about the presence of the first object by using the notification device.

ENHANCED TRANSPARENT TRAILER

A system for generating a composite image of an area behind a vehicle includes a controller that receives a first image of a trailer from a vehicle camera and a second image of an area aft of the trailer with a trailer camera. A portion of the area around the vehicle is not within a line of sight of either the vehicle camera or the trailer camera. A third image of an area proximate the vehicle is obtained from a database containing previously obtained images and combines the first image, the second image and the third image into a composite image. A method of generating a composite image is also disclosed.

Camera System for Particulate Material Trailer

A camera system for a trailer that cooperates with a tarping system of the trailer to capture images during loading and unloading. The camera transmits the images to a display. A driver may watch the display to monitor loading and unloading. The camera system maintains a camera of the camera system positioned to capture images of an interior of the trailer regardless of the operation of the tarping system. The camera system generally includes an arm member, a pivot structure connected to the arm member, a camera connected to the arm member, and a weight connected to the arm member. Responsive to a force of gravity the camera remains oriented upward to capture images of the interior of the trailer during loading and unloading.

DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

A display control system includes an infrastructure sensor information acquisition unit, a blind spot information generation unit, and a display control unit. The infrastructure sensor information acquisition unit acquires infrastructure sensor information, which is obtained when an infrastructure sensor provided around a road detects information around the vehicle on the road. The blind spot information generation unit generates, based on the infrastructure sensor information, blind spot information on a blind spot area that becomes a blind spot due to an obstacle when viewed from the vehicle. The display control unit control a display device such that the blind spot information is displayed on the vehicle.

Apparatus for providing around view

An apparatus for providing an around view comprises: first and second cameras for acquiring first and second image information; and a processor. The processor can generate an around view image including a first area including a subject overlapping area and a second area excluding the subject overlapping area, on the basis of first and second images. The subject overlapping area is disposed between first and second boundary lines in the first and second images. The first boundary line is located in the first area, and the second boundary line adjoins the second area. If it is predicted that a first object will pass through the second boundary line due to the first object approaching within a predetermined distance thereto, the processor can generate an around view image in which the second area is changed so that the second area includes the subject overlapping area.

Vehicular trailering assist system

A vehicular trailering assist system includes a vehicle rear backup camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle and viewing at least rearward of the vehicle. A trailer hitched to the vehicle includes a trailer rear camera disposed at a rear portion of the trailer and viewing at least rearward of the trailer. The control displays at a display device in the vehicle a surround view image using an avatar of the vehicle and an avatar of the trailer. The control stitches images derived from image data captured by the vehicle rear backup camera and images derived from the trailer rear camera to provide a transparent trailer view, and the display device displays transparent trailer view video images. Responsive to the vehicle being shifted into a reverse gear, the display device automatically displays rear backup images derived from image data captured by the trailer rear camera.

VEHICULAR REAR BACKUP SYSTEM WITH VIDEO DISPLAY
20230158953 · 2023-05-25 ·

A vehicular rear backup system includes a rear backup digital camera disposed at a vehicle and a display device having a video display screen disposed in an interior cabin of the vehicle and viewable by the driver of the vehicle. Rear backup video images that are derived from image data captured by the rear backup digital camera are displayed on the video display screen no later than two seconds after the driver of the vehicle first changes propulsion of the vehicle during a new ignition cycle to reverse mode to commence a first backup event. Until the first backup event is completed, the video display screen displays rear backup video images. During a backup event of the vehicle, image data captured by the rear backup digital camera is provided to and is processed by an image processor of the system to detect presence of an object rearward of the vehicle.

A camera that picks up an image behind a vehicle in order to display an image behind the vehicle on an electronic rear-view mirror and a monitor installed on the vehicle is provided with an optical system configured to have a high resolution region that has a high image-forming magnification and a peripheral region that is formed around the high resolution region and has a lower image-forming magnification than the high resolution region and to form an optical image on an image sensor; and an image pickup means configured to output an image based on an optical image formed on the image sensor, wherein the camera is arranged on the vehicle such that a ground surface that is behind and near the vehicle and the position 80 cm high from the ground surface is included within a second field range in which an image is formed on the image sensor via the second region of the optical system.

Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly with blind spot indicator module

A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element sub-assembly having a mirror reflective element, a mirror reflector, a mirror back plate, and indicator element. The indicator element includes a housing and a light source. The indicator element is associated with a blind spot detection system of the vehicle and includes a diffuser that diffuses light emitted by the light source. An icon is established through a metallic reflector coating disposed at the glass substrate. The icon includes a light-transmitting aperture. When the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached at the vehicle, the icon is at an upper quadrant of the mirror reflective element. When the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached at the vehicle and when the light source is activated, the icon is illuminated and is viewable by the driver of the vehicle.
