Wheel with flexible wide-body spokes
A wheel with flexible spokes, including a rim and hub, and spokes between the rim and hub made of fibrous material that causes the spokes to be both lighter in weight and stronger than comparable steel spokes. The spokes are also flexible and resilient such that they can bend while retaining their integrity and strength.
SUSPENSION FOR WHEELED VEHICLES
A wheelchair suspension comprises a frame, at least one pivot arm, at least one front caster, at least one rear caster, a stabilizing system, and a sensor. The pivot arm is coupled to the frame. The front caster is coupled to the pivot arm. The rear caster is coupled to the frame. The stabilizing system is coupled to the frame and the pivot arm. The sensor is arranged such that tipping of the frame causes actuation of the stabilizing system to at least partially resist further movement of the frame.
Wheel unit
A wheel unit includes a motor, a pinion gear fixed to a rotating portion of the motor, a wheel including an annular ground surface and rotating around a final gear support shaft, and a final gear disposed on one side in an axial direction with respect to the wheel. The wheel unit further includes a speed reduction mechanism which decelerates rotation of the pinion gear and transmits the rotation to the final gear and a gear case which accommodates the pinion gear. When viewed from the axial direction, the final gear support shaft and the motor shaft are disposed in different positions. The motor includes a stationary portion and a rotary portion, and the stationary portion is fixed to the gear case by an attachment plate.
CASTER WHEEL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR A WHEELCHAIR AND WHEELCHAIR COMPRISING THE SAME
There is described a caster wheel support assembly for a wheelchair, the caster wheel support assembly having a first section configured to be securable to a frame member of the wheelchair and a second section configured to hold a swivel member coupled to a caster wheel. The caster wheel support assembly has a holding member designed as a collet configured to hold a first portion of the swivel member, in which first portion extends along a first axis. A second portion of the swivel member, which is coupled to the caster wheel, extends away from the first portion along a second axis, in which second axis forms an angle relative to the first axis. The holding member and swivel member are configured such that the first portion of the swivel member is supported by the holding member to selectively allow rotation of the swivel member relative to the holding member about the first axis and thereby cause adjustment of a camber of the caster wheel. The collet is configured to selectively allow clamping of the swivel member onto the holding member, thereby preventing rotation of the swivel member relative to the holding member, and release of the swivel member with respect to the holding member, thereby permitting rotation of the swivel member relative to the holding member.
Multi-passenger electric transporter
The present invention is a self-propelled transporter with motorized drive wheels which is particularly designed to transport patients from one location to another. The transporter includes an undercarriage having a first set of wheels pivotally connected at a bottom and proximal to a front of the undercarriage, and a second set of wheels non-pivotally connected at a bottom and proximal to a rear of the undercarriage. The transporter further includes one or more electric motors coupled to the second set of wheels. The transporter includes a base supported on the undercarriage. The transporter further includes two or more seats installed on the base to allow for patients to sit thereon.
ELECTROMOBILITY VEHICLE
This electromobility vehicle includes a vehicle frame, a seat unit mounted to the vehicle frame, a suspension mounted to a front-end side of the vehicle frame, a pair of front wheels aligned in a direction parallel to a width dimension of the vehicle and supported by the suspension, at least one rear wheel supported by the vehicle frame, and a drive device that drives either of the front wheels and the rear wheel, where the front wheels are omnidirectional wheels whose outer circumferential surfaces are formed by a plurality of rollers and the pair of front wheels is supported by the suspension such that it is placed in a toe-in arrangement.
Motorized chair
A motorized chair is provided. The chair comprises a seat, a back, a hoist comprising at least a mast, a winch, and a sling, and at least one actuator, that based on receipt of a first instruction to activate the hoist, raises the seat and back and extends the mast over the raised seat and back. Based on receipt of a second instruction, the at least one actuator instructs the winch to raise the sling. An individual seated in the chair, based on actuator receipt of the first instruction, is raised to an upright position. The sling comprises at least one member for attachment to the individual. Based on the attachment of the at least one member to the individual and based on receipt of the second instruction by the at least one actuator, the hoist lifts the individual.
Removable power assist for manual wheelchair
Disclosed is a device for converting a manual wheelchair into an electronic wheelchair is provided. The device includes a joystick, a communication unit, a motor, a retractable friction roller, an engagement unit and a power source. The joystick is operably connected to a communication unit. The communication unit is operably connected to a motor. The motor includes an axle connected to a rotor. The retractable friction roller is mounted on the axle. The roller is placed in contact with a wheel of a manual wheelchair. The engagement unit is attached to the manual wheelchair to detachably attach the friction roller and the wheel. The power source is operably connected to the motor and the joystick.
WHEEL, DRIVE WHEEL AND WHEELCHAIR
The disclosure provides a wheel, drive wheel and wheel chair. The wheel includes an annular rim and a disk covering the rim on one side in an axial direction of the rim. The disk of the wheel includes a skin and a cushion member. The skin is formed of a fiber-reinforced material. The cushion member includes a cushion part and a shape retaining part. The cushion part is formed of a shock absorbing material and is disposed adjacent to the skin. The shape retaining part is formed of a fiber-reinforced material and is disposed adjacent to the cushion part.
