Wakeboat draft measuring system and methods
10414470 · 2019-09-17 · ·

Wakeboat hull control systems and methods are provided to permit the accurate reproduction of a wake behind a wakeboat. The onboard wake control system receives data from a draft measuring system. Incorporation of the data from the draft measuring system permits accurate reproduction of a wake behind the wakeboat after a change in an onboard variable such as the number, weight or position of passengers, the weight or position of cargo and the position of trim tabs or amount/location of ballast.

Spring-loaded wakeboard booster
10414469 · 2019-09-17 ·

A spring-loaded wakeboard booster has a vertical swivel connection to the towing tower of a motorboat at its proximal end. The swivel connection rotatably supports a cylindrical piston spring assembly, which has a tow rope connection shaft at its proximal end, through which the piston spring assembly is connected by a tow line extending to the wakeboard. When the wakeboard is being towed, the force on the tow line draws the piston toward the proximal end of the piston spring assembly, thereby compressing the spring. When the wakeboard reaches the crest of the boat's wake, the water resistance drops and the spring expands, drawing the board forward and over the wake.

Wakeboat Propulsion Apparatuses and Methods

Wakeboat propulsion apparatuses are provided that can include: a wakeboat having a hull; an engine mounted to the hull; a hydraulic pump driven by the engine; a hydraulic motor powered by the hydraulic pump; and a propeller powered by the hydraulic motor. Methods for propelling a wakeboat are also provided. The methods can include: engaging a hydraulic pump from a drive of an engine operationally mounted to a hull of the wakeboat; driving a hydraulic motor with hydraulic fluid received from the hydraulic pump; and operationally engaging a propeller using the hydraulic motor.

Folding watercraft carrier with outboard pull handle
10384587 · 2019-08-20 · ·

A watercraft carrier, for example, for carrying a kayak, includes a base having an outboard end, a distal end, and an upper surface. The watercraft carrier includes a hub disposed at the distal end of the base and an upright coupled to the hub and configured to rotate with respect to the base. The watercraft carrier includes a handle disposed at the outboard end of the base configured to release the upright from a locked configuration such that the upright can rotate from a first position to a second position. Displacing the handle in an outboard direction releases the upright from the locked configuration.

Control systems for water-sports watercraft

An adjustable surf wake system can enhance a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. A rider control device can enable a rider to control the wake of the watercraft while riding the wake, such as for wake surfing. The rider can adjust the speed of the watercraft, can adjust the height of the wake, and/or can change the watercraft between a surf-left configuration and a surf-right configuration. The rider control device can include a position sensor. A drone can position a camera based on the position sensor of the rider control device for filming the rider.

Method, apparatus and system for obtaining and monitoring environmental data

In at least one aspect, a water-sports board is configured to collect environmental data. The water-sports board includes a waterproof sensor housing and, disposed within the housing, one or more sensor(s), processor(s), memory device(s), switch(es), batteries. The sensing device is configured, in a first state, not to store environmental data sensed by the at least one sensor in the at least one physical memory device. The sensing device is configured, in a second state, to store environmental data sensed by the at least one sensor in the at least one physical memory device.

Multiple accessory storage device
10384750 · 2019-08-20 ·

A removable storage device adaptable for use in exercise, fishing, paddling, floating, anchoring and other operations pertaining to, but not limited to, recreational operation of watercraft. This storage device has a population of receptacles or storage areas in which a user may rapidly and securely store a variety of objects such as, for example only, paddles, snorkeling gear, valuable items, waterproof pouches and/or containers, lights, personal flotation devices, dog leashes, fishing poles, anchors, food and/or beverage containers, rope, flares and other desired items. This removable storage device may be constructed to allow secure fastening of the storage device to a wide variety of external surfaces such as, for example only paddle craft, docks, boats and other objects and surfaces desired by the operator. The storage device may be an inflatable device, a solid or semi-solid device, and/or a combination inflatable and solid or semi-solid device.

Wake-modifying device for a boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull having starboard and port sides and a transom, a generally horizontal platform, and a pair of wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. The generally horizontal platform extends aft of the transom and is configured to support a human weighing at least 100 lbs. on an upper surface thereof. The pair of wake-modifying devices are attached to the platform. One of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a port side of the platform's centerline, and another of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a starboard side of the platform's centerline. Each wake-modifying device is moveable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position in which the wake-modifying device is angled downwardly at an angle relative to the top surface of the generally horizontal platform.

Surf wake forming systems and methods with primary and secondary subtabs

A wakeboat has a hull, the hull forming a wake when moving forward in the water, with a left quiet region and a right quiet region in the wake. A trim tab is supported by the hull at the stern of the hull. The trim tab comprises a primary subtab and a secondary subtab. One or more actuators may be optionally included to reposition the trim tab more into, or more out of, the water to create a surf left and/or surf right configuration. Other systems and methods are also provided.

Wake-modifying device for a boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull, having starboard and port sides and a transom, and a wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. The wake-modifying device includes a plate-like member and at least one downturned surface. The wake-modifying device is pivotable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position about a pivot axis. When a wake-modifying device is in the deployed position, the downturned surface is lower than it is in the non-deployed position so as to be able to modify the boat's wake.
