A vehicle includes a frame, a cabin coupled to the frame, and a blast mat. The cabin includes a seat configured to support an occupant and a series of walls at least partially defining a footwell configured to receive a foot of the occupant when the occupant is seated in the seat. The blast mat is positioned within the footwell and configured to absorb energy from an explosion. The blast mat has a top surface and a bottom surface. The cabin defines a longitudinal axis extending parallel to a forward direction of travel of the vehicle and a lateral axis extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. At least a portion of the bottom surface of the blast mat engages at least one of the walls. A thickness of the blast mat varies throughout the blast mat.

BATTERY PROTECTION IN AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

The present disclosure is directed to a slider bar to protect a battery pack of a vehicle. The battery pack is housed on an underbody in between the vehicle's front and rear axles. The battery pack protrudes towards the ground. The battery pack can optionally be covered by a shield that has a slot through which the slider bar extends outwards towards the ground. The slider bar is coupled to the underbody near the battery pack. The slider bar is positioned lower than the battery pack such that in an event of the vehicle bottoming out, the impact will be absorbed by the slider bar instead of the battery pack. Thereby, the slider bar protects the battery pack from scraping/scratching the ground.

Vehicle interior board and method for manufacturing same

A vehicle interior board which is thin, lightweight, has high strength, has less degradation, peeling and the like near an end portion of a metal plate, and has high quality and excellent productivity; and a method for manufacturing the same. The vehicle interior board includes a pair of metal plates and a foamed polyurethane layer formed between the pair of metal plates. A projecting ridge projecting outwardly and extending in a predetermined direction along the outer surface is formed on an outer surface of the metal plate. Thus, it is possible to obtain desired strength and rigidity even when the metal plates or the foamed polyurethane layer are thinned or when a lightweight aluminum plate or the like is adopted as the metal plates. Therefore, it is possible to reduce weight of a vehicle interior board.
