The present disclosure provides a body structure for a vehicle capable of improving a vibration damping effect by a damping member while preventing an increase in an application amount of the damping member and a shape change of a component. Embodiments include a body structure for a vehicle in which a first bonded surface of a first body component and a second bonded surface of a second body component are bonded via a damping member, with which a portion between the first bonded surface and the second bonded surface is filled. The first bonded surface of the first body component has a vertical wall extending toward the second bonded surface or away from the second bonded surface. The portion between the first bonded surface and the second bonded surface is filled with the damping member such that the damping member contacts the vertical wall.

A vehicle includes a battery system arranged in a central region. The battery system includes corners corresponding to corners of an end of the vehicle, and respective chassis components are arranged at each corner. Respective shear brackets are affixed to the vehicle frame to a respective chassis component. The shear brackets are configured to absorb energy from the chassis components during deceleration events. The chassis components may include a knuckle configured to engage with the frame at an interface, to which the shear bracket may be added. Each shear bracket is formed from metal, such as sheet metal, and includes mounting features such as holes or studs to affix to the frame. The shear brackets are configured to limit intrusion of the chassis components into the battery system by absorbing energy. A bolt or fastener affixing a chassis component to the frame is strengthened by the shear bracket.

The connection member is integrally connected to the front pillar, the side sill, or the rear lower member to form a unitary one piece structure therewith.

A steering rod-end joint coupled with the spindle assembly pivotally receives a steering rod. An axle assembly coupled with the spindle assembly conducts torque from a transaxle to a wheel coupled with the spindle assembly. Each of the first and second rod-end joints comprises a ball rotatably retained within a casing. The ball is fastened within a recess between parallel prongs extending from the spindle assembly. A threaded shank extending from the casing is threadably fixated with the suspension arm, such that the spindle assembly may be moved with respect to the casing and the suspension arm.
