MARINE CONTROL STATION

An advanced control station system for a marine vessel. The control station provides a motor-controlled lever head with the ability to control the amount of pressure required to move the lever head as well as the ability to set adjustable detents within the range of motion of the lever head. The advanced control station further provides for electronic communication between multiple stations controls so that the throttle and transmission settings from one control station can be synchronized during a control station transfer.

A marine vessel propulsion control system that improves the operability of a marine vessel includes a controller configured or programmed to execute a dynamic positioning control to restrict movement of the marine vessel to make the marine vessel stay at a predetermined position. When the controller accepts an instruction to move the marine vessel during execution of the dynamic positioning control when a flow acting on a hull of the marine vessel exists, the controller is configured or programmed to move the marine vessel according to the instruction and then execute the dynamic positioning control again after moving the marine vessel.

A marine vessel propulsion control system includes a controller to control a movement of a marine vessel and propulsion devices each including a power source and a thrust generator to generate a thrust based on a drive force of the power source. The controller controls the movement of the marine vessel to navigate according to a preset sea route including a target position. The controller reduces the drive force of the power source of each of the propulsion devices when the marine vessel reaches a deceleration start position that is spaced apart from the target position by a required deceleration distance, and, after reducing the drive force of the power source of each of the propulsion devices, cuts off transmission of the drive force from the power source to the thrust generator in at least one of the propulsion devices depending on a predetermined condition.

A method for controlling a marine vessel having first and second steering nozzles and first and second trim deflectors comprises generating at least a first set of actuator control signals and a second set of actuator control signals. The first set of actuator control signals is coupled to and controls the first and second steering nozzles, and the second set of actuator control signals is coupled to and controls the first and second trim deflectors. The acts of generating and coupling the first set of actuator control signals and the second set of actuator control signals result in inducing any of a net yawing force, a net rolling force, and a net trimming force to the marine vessel without inducing any other substantial forces to the marine vessel by controlling the first and second steering nozzles and the first and second trim deflectors. Also disclosed is a system for controlling a marine vessel.

ELECTRIC MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD WITH EMERGENCY DEPLETION MODE

An electric marine propulsion system is configured to propel a marine vessel and comprises a lithium ion (LI) battery, a marine drive having an electric motor powered by the LI battery, and a user input device configured to receive a user input selected an emergency depletion mode. The system further includes a controller configured to determine a battery charge level for the LI battery and reserve a minimum charge level of the LI battery associated with a normal operating area for the LI battery by ceasing power delivery from the LI battery to the marine drive once the battery charge level reaches the minimum charge level. In response to selection of the emergency depletion mode, power is delivered from the LI battery to the marine drive when the battery charge level is below the minimum charge level.

In the case, the remote control device and the gauge device are disposed adjacently to each other in a front-rear direction of the ship.

SHIFT INTERRUPT METHOD FOR A MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEM
20220363361 · 2022-11-17 ·

A system, method, and device for interrupting power to an engine ignition coil in a marine engine during an actuation of a shift cable for transitioning between gears is provided. The method includes connecting a sensor assembly to the shift cable. The sensor assembly includes magnets, a Hall sensor for magnetic sensing, and a control circuit. The magnets are configured to pass by the Hall sensor, which senses a change in polarity of the magnets. The control circuit is configured to interrupt power to the engine ignition coil. The method includes sensing a polarity of the magnets; determining if the polarity of the magnets has changed; and sending a signal to the control circuit based on the change in polarity of the magnets, which causes an output interrupting power to the engine ignition coil.

Marine propulsion system and method for preventing collision of marine propulsion devices

A marine propulsion system for a marine vessel has a first marine propulsion device coupled to the marine vessel and a second marine propulsion device coupled to the marine vessel. The first marine propulsion device has a first engine controlled by a first electronic control module. The second marine propulsion device has a second engine controlled by a second electronic control module.
