Portable airline inter-passenger shield

An apparatus for inhibiting cross contamination by airborne droplets between adjacent passengers on an aircraft comprises a case in which a flexible shield can be stored, and from which the shield can be deployed in a vertical, substantially flat configuration, where it is maintained by an extension mechanism. The shield can be coiled within the case when not deployed, and can be retractable by a ratchet and spring when deployment is terminated. An attachment mechanism positions the case between the passengers by fixing the case to a structure such as an arm rest. The extension mechanism can include one or more rigid or semi-rigid rods. The case or shield can include a storage cavity for storage of the rods when not deployed. The attachment mechanism can include an arm rest clamp and/or an insertion member that can pivot downward for insertion between a seat cushion and adjacent structure.

The side panel and an outer wall of the console being parallel and spaced apart by a distance L between 1000 mm and 1600 mm. The passenger seat unit further includes a single motorized mechanism, to simultaneously actuate the movements of the seat section and the backrest, but remains capable of receiving one or more additional motorized mechanisms.

An aircraft including a cabin inside which a floor is installed, and at least one arranging module which is fixed solely to the floor and which includes a front wall, a rear wall, a port-side wall and a starboard-side wall which are rigidly connected to one another. The port-side and starboard-side walls each have a door, a roof and a deck fixed to each of the front, rear, port-side and starboard-side walls, and a separating system which makes it possible to separate the internal volume of the arranging module into two volumes, each being accessible through one of the doors. The present invention provides an aircraft cabin comprising an aisle defining an aisle axis, a plurality of aircraft passenger seats arranged in a seat column adjacent the aisle, and accessible from the aisle, each aircraft passenger seat comprising a seat pan and a backrest with a front face defining a seat facing direction and a rear face, and each aircraft passenger seat being convertible between a seat configuration and a bed configuration, wherein each aircraft passenger seat in the seat column is able to be angled away from the aisle such that the seat facing direction is at an angle of at least degrees from the aisle axis and wherein each aircraft passenger seat can be in the bed configuration when at that angle. The invention also provides an aircraft passenger accommodation unit, an aircraft, a kit of parts and a method of providing enhanced passenger access to an aircraft passenger accommodation unit.

Further, a configuration of the seats in the vehicle can be determined based on the occupancy data and the states of the vehicle. The configuration can include a disposition of the seats inside the vehicle. Furthermore, at least one of the seats can be adjusted based on the configuration that was determined.
