An apparatus and method for securely holding a Portable Electronic Device (PED). The PED holder is integrated with furniture viewable by a potential user and configured with a support structure couplable to an existing portion of the furniture. The support structure holds a retractable, spring-loaded extension member biased for retraction. Empty, the extension member automatically retracts proximal with the housing of the support structure. Extended, with a PED in place, the retraction bias allows for securely clamping a plurality of sizes of PED.

A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a backrest. A tray table is moveably coupled to the backrest. The tray table is configured to be moved between a stowed position and a deployed position. A literature pocket is formed in the backrest. The literature pocket is disposed between the tray table in the stowed position and a rear surface of the backrest. In an embodiment, a device support is moveably coupled to the literature pocket. The device support is moveable between a support stowed position and a support deployed position that is configured to support a device.

A flexible actuation assembly for an aircraft component may include a flexible linkage including at least one primary element. The at least one primary element may be coupled to at least one locking pin of the flexible actuation assembly via at least one interlocking assembly. The flexible linkage may be coupled to an actuator of an aircraft component. The flexible linkage may be configured to retract the at least one locking pin from a lock position when a load applied to the actuator is translated through the flexible linkage. The flexible linkage may be fabricated from a material with a spring force able to return the at least one locking pin to the lock position when the load is removed from the actuator.

In embodiments, the aircraft seat may further include an actuatable element configured to actuate between an open position and a closed position. The actuatable element may include a first surface which defines at least a portion of the auxiliary seatback portion when the actuatable element is in the closed position, and a second surface which defines a surface of an armrest when the actuatable element is in the open position.
