A method of manufacturing a spouted pouch aseptically filled with contents includes a supplying process, a sterilizing process, a stopper opening process, a filling process, a tightly re-stopping process, and a capping process. The sterilizing process, the stopper opening process, the filling process, and the tightly re-stopping process are performed in an aseptic chamber.

Container and lid

A container lid is provided herein having structurally reinforcing ribs therein. The ribs increase the strength of the lid across a central region thereof. Specifically, the lid can have an outer perimeter and the ribs can be spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter. The inwardly spaced ribs can provide a distinct look for consumer differentiation. Additionally, the ribs can be arcuate so that they generally follow a curvature of the outer perimeter of the lid. As such, a label region within the lid central region is preserved, while the lid is still strengthened by the ribs.

COVER REMOVAL SYSTEM FOR USE IN CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT ENCLOSURES

An apparatus and method are presented for removing container covers within a controlled environment enclosure without using gloves. The apparatus comprises an articulated arm apparatus and a gripping apparatus and can further comprise a controller. The articulated arm apparatus can be configurable for holding and moving a container in three dimensions; and the gripping apparatus can be configured for gripping a container cover sealing the container. The method comprises moving the container using the articulated arm apparatus while holding a gripping area of the container cover substantially stationary using the gripping apparatus. The apparatus can further comprise a sensor configured for supplying information to the controller for determining the location of the container cover gripping area and an orientation of the container cover. The method can further comprise inspecting the container cover using the sensor. The container can be moved along a path and within a space determined by the controller.

COVER REMOVAL SYSTEM FOR USE IN CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT ENCLOSURES

An apparatus and method are presented for removing container covers within a controlled environment enclosure with pre-sterilized nested containers without using gloves. The apparatus comprises an articulated arm apparatus and a gripping apparatus for the pre-sterilized nested containers and can further comprise a controller. The articulated arm apparatus can be configurable for holding and moving a container in three dimensions; and the gripping apparatus can be configured for gripping a container cover sealing the container. The method comprises providing the pre-sterilized nested containers in the form of a container having a plurality of decontaminated parts, moving the container using the articulated arm apparatus while holding a gripping area of the container cover substantially stationary using the gripping apparatus. The apparatus can further comprise a sensor configured for supplying information to the controller for determining the location of the container cover gripping area and an orientation of the container cover. The method can further comprise inspecting the container cover using the sensor. The container can be moved along a path and within a space determined by the controller.

SLICING AND PACKAGING ASSEMBLY WITH MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE

An assembly is provided for turning a food product into slices of food product. The assembly includes a microbial treatment assembly configured to move the food product along a path, and a microbial intervention apparatus configured to substantially reduce an amount of microbes on an exterior surface of the food product while the food product is traveling along the path, a slicing machine downstream of the microbial treatment assembly, the slicing machine being configured to slice the food product into slices, an enclosure in which the slicing machine is positioned, the enclosure being sealed from outside atmosphere, and a microbial treatment apparatus in communication with the enclosure and configured to deter the growth of microbes on the food product.

Assembling apparatus

An assembling apparatus efficiently performs a recovery operation and a parts size change operation. A filling line (the assembling apparatus) has parts supply units that supply parts, assembling units that mount one of the parts to another part, and a conveying unit that individually moves carriers 12 capable of storing parts constituting an assembly. The parts supply units are provided at positions away from the assembling units, the assembling units are accommodated in an isolator having an interior maintained in an aseptic state, and gloves to perform an operation on the assembling units are provided on a side surface of the isolator. The supply units store the parts in one of the carriers, the carrier then moves into the isolator, and the assembling units take the part from the carrier, and mounts the part to the other part stored in the same carrier.

PACKAGING MACHINE FOR PRODUCING SEALED PACKAGES

A packaging machine comprises a conveying device for advancing a web along a web advancement path at least to a tube forming station at which the web is formed into a tube and for advancing the tube along a tube advancement path, a tube forming and sealing device configured to form and longitudinally seal the tube, a tensioning device upstream of the tube forming station and configured to control tension of the tube and a control unit configured to control operation of the packaging machine. The tensioning device comprises a main drive roller rotatable around a main rotation axis and a main drive motor configured to actuate rotation of the main drive roller around the main rotation axis. The control unit controls the main drive motor such that an angular speed and/or angular acceleration of the main drive roller is cyclically varied to control tension of the tube.
