A formula or instrument will be used to determine the chance of a successful capture attempt, and how it affect the ranks of each piece.
Method and apparatus for playing a chess-like game
A game apparatus includes a housing defining an interior area for electronic components, a top wall of which includes a game board having squares for receiving respective game pieces. A plurality of input buttons are included on each end of the housing by which a player may enter points to be awarded to corresponding moves of game pieces, the point being incremented on respective digital displays. The game board includes a negative containment grid for receiving one or more auxiliary game pieces. Points may be scored as game pieces are moved and opposing game pieces are captured, the game pieces having predetermined high and low values. In addition, the method of use includes a dual point assignment scheme capable of varying the points assigned to the playing pieces.

Authentication method for a computing device using interactive game board and game piece images
An authentication method and system includes a computing device, such as a smart phone, which includes a display for presenting a graphical and interactive game board that is used for entering a user's passcode. During the authentication process, the user selects a game board (e.g. chess, checkers, poker, backgammon, etc.) and associated game pieces for presentation on the display. The user then moves one or more game pieces to locations on the game board. Together, the selected game board, selected game pieces, and the movements and/or locations which the game pieces are moved on the game board form an entered passcode. This generated passcode is then compared with a stored passcode to authenticate the user before granting access to the computing device.
Game system with rotatably positionable playing pieces
A game system, includes a game board, including a plurality of squares arranged in rows and columns, including special squares, including a start square and bonus squares, each including a text indicator and a color indicator; a board border with row indicators and column indicators; rotatably positionable playing pieces, each including a line segment with segment terminators and a piece scoring indicator denoting a piece scoring value; two piece holders; two mockup boards; two privacy blinds; such that a plurality of pairs of successive strings are positionable on the board, each pair placed by two opposing players, each string including a plurality of rotatably positioned connected playing pieces, such that at least one segment terminator of a first connected playing piece is connected to at least one segment terminator of a second connected playing piece, such that line segments of the rotatably positioned connected pieces form a connected path.
KLOTSKI CHESS
The present application relates to a klotski game including a plurality of game pieces, a game board and a prompter. The plurality of game pieces includes a decisive game piece. The game board is configured to accommodate the plurality of game pieces and the game board is provided with an exit. The prompter is configured to indicate that a game of the klotski game is over when the decisive game piece is moved to a position corresponding to the exit on the game board.
Modified Chess Game
Apparatus and method of a variation of the game of chess are shown and described. The playing board is conventional. Playing pieces have two exposable faces including an initial face concealing identity of that playing piece, and a subsequently exposed face identifying identity of that playing piece. Initially, all playing pieces occupy conventional starting positions on the board, but with the face concealing identity visible to the players. The king is an exception, and is identified and placed in the conventional position for a king. Initial moves by each playing piece have move characteristics of that playing piece which conventionally occupies its space on the board. Upon completion of a first move, the face identifying identity of the playing piece is exposed. Moves subsequent to the initial moves have move characteristics of playing pieces identified by exposing the identity. The game may then be played according to conventional rules.

Cylindrical Board Game Components and Game Methods of Play
A challenging set of two-player (or multi-player) games of skill with increased levels of difficulty that greatly enhance the players' abilities to visualize in 3-D. The games can also be developed to be played electronically and on-line. The basic objective of the game components of the present invention is to adapt 2-D board game surfaces into 3-D cylindrical configurations. By bending a 2-D board game into 3-D and connecting it back onto itself, additional skills associated with 3-D visualization are required of the players. A variety of traditional 2-D board games are translated into 3-D cylindrical board game structures and methods. In its basic form, the game method of play involves two players alternately placing game pieces into apertures on the cylindrical game board. Although most of the games associated with the objective of the present invention are two-player games, a variety of multi-player games are also possible.
