METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS FOR GAS ADSORPTION
Disclosed are metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for adsorbing guest species, methods for the separation of gases using the MOFs, and systems comprising the MOFs. The MOFs comprise a plurality of secondary building units (SBUs), each SBU comprising a repeating unit of one metal cation connected to another metal cation via a first moiety of an organic linker; a layer of connected adjacent SBUs in which a second moiety of the linker in a first SBU is connected to a metal cation of an adjacent SBU, and wherein adjacent layers are connected to each other via linker-to-linker bonding interactions
ZEOLITE-BASED ADSORBENTS BASED ON LSX ZEOLITE OF CONTROLLED OUTER SURFACE AREA, PROCESS FOR PREPARING THEM AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to a zeolite-based adsorbent comprising at least one zeolite of FAU structure of LSX type and comprising barium and/or potassium, in which the outer surface area of said zeolite-based adsorbent, measured by nitrogen adsorption, is between 20 m.sup.2.Math.g.sup.−1 and 100 m.sup.2.Math.g.sup.−1, limits inclusive. The present invention also relates to the use of such a zeolite-based adsorbent as an adsorption agent, and also to the process for separating para-xylene from aromatic isomer fractions containing 8 carbon atoms.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE REVERSIBLE ADSORPTION OF CARBON DIOXIDE
The present invention relates to a device for the reversible adsorption of carbon dioxide from a gas mixture, comprising at least one adsorbent vessel comprising one or a plurality of gas permeable cartridge vessels of an inert and dimensionally stable material, and each cartridge comprising a suitable polymeric particular adsorbent having a primary amino functionality; to an arrangement including the device, and to a method for adand desorption of carbon dioxide.
Filtration Device for Air Purification Appliance
A filtration device for an air purification appliance includes a first filtering cartridge structure containing a classic absorbent or adsorbent material selected from activated carbon or zeolite and a second, different filtering cartridge structure holding a filtering medium consisting of a specific adsorbent material which is porous and functionalized with at least one probe molecule in such a way as to trap aldehyde-type chemical contaminants.
Adsorbent for hydrocarbon recovery
Disclosed in certain embodiments are sorbents for capturing heavy hydrocarbons via thermal swing adsorption processes.
FUEL UPGRADING AND REFORMING WITH METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK
Systems and methods for separating hydrocarbons on an internal combustion powered vehicle via one or more metal organic frameworks are disclosed. Systems and methods can further include utilizing separated hydrocarbons and exhaust to generate hydrogen gas for use as fuel. In one aspect, a method for separating hydrocarbons can include contacting a first component containing a first metal organic framework with a flow of hydrocarbons and separating hydrocarbons by size. In certain embodiments, the hydrocarbons can include alkanes.
ACTIVATED CARBON AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Disclosed is an activated carbon including pores formed on a surface thereof, in particular, the pores include ultra-micropores having a diameter that is equal to or less than about 1.0 nm.
Metal organic frameworks for the capture of volatile organic compounds
The use of porous crystalline solids constituted of a metal-organic framework (MOF) for the capture of polar volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In particular, the MOF of interest are material having an average pores sizes of 0.4 to 0.6 nm and an hydrophobic core formed by a metal oxide and/or hydroxide network connected by linkers, the linkers being selected from the group including (i) C.sub.6-C.sub.24 aromatic polycarboxylate linkers, such as benzyl or naphtyl di-, tri- or tetracarboxylate, and (ii) C.sub.6-C.sub.16 polycarboxylate aliphatic linkers; the linkers bearing or not apolar fluorinated groups, e.g. —(CF.sub.2)n—CF.sub.3 groups, n being a integer from 0 to 5, preferably 0 ou 3, and/or apolar C.sub.1-C.sub.20 preferably C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl groups, e.g. —CH.sub.3 or —CH.sub.2—CH.sub.3, grafted directly to the linkers and pointing within the pores of the MOF. The MOF solids used in the present invention can be used for the purification of air, for example for the capture of polar VOCs like acetic acid and aldehydes from indoor air in cars, museums and archives, much more efficiently than common adsorbents, particularly in presence of above normal levels of humidity. They can in particular be used for the preservation of cultural heritage.
MATERIALS FOR MOISTURE REMOVAL AND WATER HARVESTING FROM AIR
A material for moisture removal and/or water harvesting from air may include a hydrophilic material containing micropores and a low water activity material confined within the micropores of the hydrophilic material. Apparatuses containing such materials and methods for moisture removal and/or water harvesting from air by using such materials are also described.
Electrical switching device
An electrical switching device is provided for interrupting an electrical connection. The device has a switching chamber and two contact pieces being arranged directly in the switching chamber or in an encapsulated housing arranged in the switching chamber and configured to be gas-tight in relation to the switching chamber. The contact pieces are movable relative to each other to bring about a switching action. A fluid insulation medium is also provided, which is arranged in the switching chamber or in a storage volume which can be connected to the switching chamber. The switching chamber or the storage volume has an outlet for letting out the fluid insulation medium. A filter is provided at or adjacent to the outlet, the filter configured to filter gaseous components of the insulation medium, or the reaction products thereof, conducted through the outlet.
