Method for treating soil-contaminating water using photocatalytic material
The present invention provides a novel method for treating soil-contaminated water, the method using a photocatalytic material capable of efficiently removing, by light irradiation alone, volatile organic compounds and heavy metals that give rise to soil contamination. The present invention provides a method for treating soil-contaminated water that detoxifies volatile organic compounds contained in soil-contaminated water using a photocatalytic material, the method being characterized by including the steps of (1) subjecting the soil-contaminated water to a gas-liquid separation to obtain a gas phase, and (2) decomposing the volatile organic compounds contained in the gas phase obtained in step (1) using the photocatalytic material. The present invention further provides a method for treating soil-contaminated water using a photocatalytic material to remove heavy metals contained in the soil-contaminated water, the method being characterized, by including the steps of (1) subjecting the soil-contaminated water to a gas-liquid separation to obtain a liquid phase, and (2) removing the heavy metals contained in the liquid phase obtained in step (1) using the photocatalytic material.
INTERFACE SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR A TUBULAR FILTER ELEMENT
An interface seal assembly for sealing a tubular filter element relative to a first component and a second component of a fluid filtration system. The interface seal assembly comprises an body located between the first and second components, and having: an aperture extending through the body for communicating with an internal cavity of the filter element; a first mounting surface comprising a first seal groove; and a second mounting surface opposite the first mounting surface, comprising a second seal groove. One of the first and second seal grooves has a circular shape, and the other has a non-circular shape. A first seal is located in the first seal groove, for sealing the interface body relative to one of the first and second components. A second seal is located in the second seal groove, for sealing the body relative to the other of the first and second components.
ELECTROSTATIC DUST FILTER
Provided is an electrostatic dust filter including a frame that is opened back and forth and forms a space through which air passes, a chemical absorbent that is accommodated in the space and absorbs harmful substance in the air, a mesh member that covers the front of the frame and has a plurality of pores through which the air passes, a ground electrode that covers the rear of the frame and has the plurality of pores through which the air passes, and is grounded, and a voltage electrode that is disposed to opposite to the ground electrode with respect to the mesh member and applied with a high voltage.
CUMENE-PHENOL COMPLEX WITH THERMAL OXIDATION SYSTEM
A process for the treatment of waste water, spent air, and hydrocarbon containing liquid and gaseous streams in the cumene/phenol complex is described. Various effluent streams are combined in appropriate collection vessels, including a spent air knockout drum, a hydrocarbon buffer vessel, a fuel gas knockout drum, a phenolic water vessel, and a non-phenolic water vessel. Streams from these vessels are sent to a thermal oxidation system.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TREATING A GAS LADEN WITH POLLUTANTS
A device for treating a gas laden with pollutants, includes at least one adsorption module for adsorbing the pollutants, which is utilized in an adsorption apparatus. The adsorption module includes at least one electrically conductive layer of an activated carbon fiber mat, an electric current circuit for heating the activated carbon fiber mat for the desorption of the adsorbed pollutants, and distributing conduit which is routed into the center of the adsorption module and has outlet openings for a flush gas for inertizing and rinsing the activated carbon fiber mat.
IMPROVED DEVICE FOR REMOVING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
A device for the removal of volatile organic compounds including at least one first connector arranged at the outlet of a gas stream to be treated. At its top, has a connection extension that links with the bioreactor located in the middle part of the device (having a nutrient solution where organisms that degrade volatile organic compounds can grow). Additionally, there is a dispersion arrangement that couples with an outlet through which the gaseous stream, once treated, is expelled out to the environment. A distribution network of a nutritive solution with microorganisms that degrade volatile organic compounds. The connection extension includes a distributor cone that is arranged in an inverted way and internally emptied and also has a cylindrical extension at its top. The distributor cone allows the airflow to be displaced by an external path into the internal walls of the distributor cone, whose cylindrical extension connects with a second perforated cylinder with multiples drill holes throughout its periphery. The axial axis of the cylindrical extension coincides with the axial axis of the distributor cone. The perforations of this second perforated cylinder are arranged so that the gas output can enter the bioreactor from its bottom.
Monolithic catalyst and preparation method and use thereof
The present application discloses a monolithic catalyst with the function of selective adsorption-catalytic oxidation of organic waste gas and a preparation method and application thereof. The present application adopts a double coating design. A first coating is a molecular sieve primer coating. A second coating is an active component coating, which uses a neutral silica sol, so as to protect the activity and effectiveness of a noble metal and a catalytic promoter on the molecular sieve.
Method for producing photocatalyst and photocatalyst filter for air cleaning
Disclosed is a method for producing a photocatalyst for air cleaning. The present production method comprises the steps of: preparing titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2); attaching platinum to a surface of the titanium dioxide; and attaching fluoro to the platinum-attached surface of the titanium dioxide to obtain surface-modified titanium dioxide.
Polysiloxane scrubbing liquid for removing tar-like compounds
Tar-like components can be removed from gas streams resulting from gasification of coal, waste or biomass by contacting the gas with a liquid organic aryl polysiloxane. The polysiloxane preferably contains alkyl groups and aryl groups, and is in particular a polymethyl polyphenyl polysiloxane. The gas comprises one or more of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and methane.
Side chamber process monitor for adsorptive separation process
Processes and apparatus for analyzing fluid properties of a stream are described. The processes utilize a simulated moving bed system and a rotary valve. The processes involve sending a portion of the pump-around stream to a side chamber where the moisture content of the adsorbent in the side chamber or one or more fluid properties of the stream or both are measured using an analyzer specific to each fluid property.
