Apparatus for hydrocarbon removal
A hydrocarbon removal apparatus includes a plurality of fibers and a backing substrate. Each of the plurality of fibers includes a proximal end and a distal end. Each proximal end is secured to the backing substrate.
Material such as film, fiber, woven and nonwoven fabric with adsorbancy
Compositions that can be used to adsorb low concentration, of unwanted or target substances from a dynamic fluid stream or from an enclosed static vapor phase. Such adsorbency can be obtained with thermoplastic materials used in the form of bulk polymer or a film, fiber, web, woven fabric, non-woven fabric, sheet, packaging and other such structures including or surrounding the enclosed volume. The concentration should be reduced to non-offensive sensed limits or a limit that does not produce a biological response.
Desulfurization and sulfur tolerant hydrogenation processes of hydrocarbon feedstocks
The present invention relates to the use of adsorbents comprising zinc oxide nanowires decorated with catalytically active metal particles for the removal of sulfur from hydrocarbon feedstocks, including the desulfurization of diesel fuels and the deep desulfurization of natural gas, and to the use of decorated zinc oxide nanowire adsorbents for the hydrogenation of naphthalene selectively to tetralin in the presence of sulfur compounds. The adsorbent comprises nickel metal particles or nickel-zinc alloy particles deposited on zinc oxide nanowires.
Polymeric ionic liquids, methods of making and methods of use thereof
Polymeric ionic liquids, methods of making and methods of using the same are disclosed.
Synthesis of polymeric ionic liquids using a photochemical polymerization process
Photo-initiated polymeric ionic liquids, methods of making and methods of using the same are disclosed. A preferred embodiment for making a photo-initiated polymeric ionic liquid (P-PIL) coated support, comprises: mixing at least one ionic liquid (IL) monomer with at least one photo-initiator; at least partially coating a support with the mixture; and exposing the coated support to UV light to form a photo-initiated polymeric ionic liquid (P-PIL) coated support.
SORBENT MATERIAL FOR SEPARATING BIO-MACROMOLECULES
A sorbent material is disclosed for the one-step separation of bio-macromolecules in a single pass extraction of DNA from complex mixtures of molecules and chemicals. In one embodiment, the sorbent material comprises a silanized material at least partially coated or formed with a polymer selected from the group consisting of a poly(aryl methacrylate), a poly(aryl acrylate), a poly(heteroaryl methacrylate, a poly(heteroaryl acrylate) and a copolymer thereof.
EXTRACTION AND DETERMINATION OF RESIDUAL ORGANIC SOLVENTS IN PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS BY SPME METHOD USING A NEW NANOCOMPOSITE FIBER
A stainless steel wire may be platinized using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method and then may be coated by polyaniline/multiwalled carbon nanotube (PANI/MWCNT) nanocomposite by electrochemical polymerization (EP). The resulting fiber may be used for headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) of residual solvents (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene, BTEX) in commercial pharmaceutical drugs, followed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID).
GAS ADSORBENT, GAS ADSORBENT MANUFACTURING METHOD, GLASS PANEL UNIT
The gas adsorbent of one aspect according to the present invention includes is included in the glass panel unit. The gas adsorbent includes: a substrate made of fiber or a porous substance, of inorganic material; and a liquid containing a getter attached to the substrate.
Water-absorbing polymer having a high absorption rate
A process for producing a water-absorbing polymer composition, comprising the process steps of (i) mixing (α1) 0.1 to 99.999% by weight of ethylenically unsaturated monomers containing acid groups or salts thereof (α2) 0 to 70% by weight of polymerized, ethylenically unsaturated monomers copolymerizable with (α1), (α3) 0.001 to 10% by weight of one or more crosslinkers, (α4) 0 to 30% by weight of water-soluble polymers, and (α5) 0 to 20% by weight of one or more assistants, where the sum of their weights (α1) to (α5) is 100% by weight, (ii) free-radical polymerization with crosslinking to form a water-insoluble aqueous untreated hydrogel polymer, and surface postcrosslinking the ground hydrogel polymer wherein blowing agents having a particle size of 100 μm to 900 μm are added to the aqueous monomer solution prior to the addition of the initiator and the start of the free-radical polymerization.
