Hydrocarbon-in-water purification system

A hydrocarbon-in-water purification system includes a high capacity hydrocarbon absorber stage having a high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material and an inlet configured to receive a hydrocarbon-in-water dispersion from a fuel system. A polishing hydrocarbon absorber stage is in liquid communication and downstream of the high capacity hydrocarbon absorber stage including polishing activated carbon. The high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material has a greater saturation capacity than the polishing activated carbon and the polishing activated carbon has a greater polishing capacity than the high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material. A method for controlling and managing the evacuation of water from the hydrocarbon-in-water purification system includes tracking the purification state of water volumes and the bed loading states of purification beds defined in the water filter.

Hollow Porous Fibers

A hollow fiber that generally extends in a longitudinal direction is provided. The hollow fiber comprises a hollow cavity that extends along at least a portion of the fiber in the longitudinal direction. The cavity is defined by an interior wall that is formed front a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a polyolefin matrix polymer and a nanoinclusion additive dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains. A porous network is defined in the composition that includes a plurality of nanopores.

The invention relates to a N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer including: a structural unit derived from a N-vinyl lactam-based monomer; and a structural unit derived from triallyl cyanurate, the N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer containing the structural unit derived from triallyl cyanurate in a ratio of 0.12 to 0.48 mol % to 100 mol % of all structural units.

MIXED MATRIX CARBON MOLECULAR SIEVE (CMS) MEMBRANE AND USE OF MIXED MATRIX CMS MEMBRANE IN C2H4/C2H6 SEPARATION

The present disclosure relates to a mixed matrix carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane, a preparation method of the mixed matrix CMS membrane, and use of the mixed matrix CMS membrane in C.sub.2H.sub.4/C.sub.2H.sub.6 separation, and belongs to the technical field of membrane separation. The present disclosure solves the problem that the CMS materials in the prior art exhibit low selectivity and low flux during an ethylene/ethane separation process. In this patent, C.sub.3N.sub.4 is used as a filling particle to prepare a mixed matrix membrane (MMM), and the MMM is pyrolyzed to prepare a CMS membrane. The C.sub.3N.sub.4/6FDA-DAM MMM has prominent C2 separation performance.

A method of forming a carbon molecular sieve membrane includes dissolving a halogenated precursor polymer in a solvent, thereby forming a dissolved halogenated precursor polymer. Homogeneously dehydrohalogenating the dissolved halogenated precursor polymer with an organic amine base to form a partially dehydrohalogenated polymer. Forming a thin film from the partially dehydrohalogenated polymer. Pyrolyzing the thin film to form the carbon molecular sieve membrane.

Porous membrane encapsulated pellet and method for its preparation

A method of encapsulating an engineered pellet in a porous membrane is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: (i) dissolving a membrane solute in a membrane solvent to produce a membrane solution; (ii) applying the membrane solution to a pellet to form a pellet encapsulated with the membrane solution; (iii) subjecting the membrane solution that encapsulates the pellet to a phase inversion and; (iv) drying the pellet to form a porous membrane encapsulated pellet. A porous membrane encapsulated pellet is also described.
