POROUS CO-POLYMERIC GEL COMPOSITIONS, POROUS CARBON COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS FOR SYNTHESIS THEREOF

The present invention discloses novel porous polymeric compositions comprising random copolymers of amides, imides, ureas, and carbamic-anhydrides, useful for the synthesis of monolithic bimodal microporous/macroporous carbon aerogels. It also discloses methods for producing said microporous/macroporous carbon aerogels by the reaction of a polyisocyanate compound and a polycarboxylic acid compound, followed by pyrolytic carbonization, and by reactive etching with CO.sub.2 at elevated temperatures. Also disclosed are methods for using the microporous/macroporous carbon aerogels in the selective capture and sequestration of carbon dioxide.

Filtration Device for Air Purification Appliance

A filtration device for an air purification appliance includes a first filtering cartridge structure containing a classic absorbent or adsorbent material selected from activated carbon or zeolite and a second, different filtering cartridge structure holding a filtering medium consisting of a specific adsorbent material which is porous and functionalized with at least one probe molecule in such a way as to trap aldehyde-type chemical contaminants.

Sol-Gel Polymeric Stationary Phases for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography and Solid Phase Extraction: Their Method of Making

A sol-gel sorbent or chromatography stationary phase is a particulate metal oxide gel containing polymeric segments uniformly distributed throughout the metal oxide gel. The metal oxide gel is an oxide from silicone or other metal oxide that can have one of the valence bonds attached to an organic group and the remainder occupied by oxygens that can be provided as an oxide or an alkoxide or aryl oxide of the polymeric segments. The particles are used for an SPE sorbent or as a packing for a reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), a normal phase high-performance liquid chromatography (NP-HPLC) column or a hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) column.

WELL TREATMENT MATERIAL FOR SLOW RELEASE OF BIOCIDE

A well treatment material for introduction into a subterranean formation is provided. The well treatment material can include a biocide collected onto a sorbent. The biocide can be capable of being desorbed at a generally constant rate over an extended period of time into the subterranean formation. The biocide can be an oxidizing biocide or a non-oxidizing biocide. The sorbent material can include one or more of an absorbent material and an adsorbent material. The biocide can be chlorine dioxide. The sorbent can be one or more of silica gel and graphite.

HYGROSCOPIC MATERIAL AND DEHUMIDIFIER USING SAME
20170276380 · 2017-09-28 ·

The present invention achieves a moisture absorbing material which enables efficient dehumidification without supercooling or large heat quantity; and a dehumidifier in which the moisture absorbing material is used. The moisture absorbing material can be a dried product of a polymer gel in which an interpenetrating polymer network structure or a semi-interpenetrating polymer network structure is formed by (a) a stimuli-responsive polymer whose affinity with water changes reversibly in response to an external stimulus and (b) a hydrophilic polymer.
