WATER ABSORBENT RESIN PARTICLES
Disclosed is water-absorbent resin particles including a crosslinked polymer having a structural unit derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer including at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylic acid and a salt thereof, in which a proportion of (meth)acrylic acid and a salt thereof is 70 to 100 mol % with respect to a total amount of monomer units in the crosslinked polymer, and a dissolved content in an aqueous solution of 0.9% by mass NaCl at 25° C. is 10% by mass or more and 25% by mass or less, and a dissolved content in an aqueous solution of 0.9% by mass NaCl at 40° C. is 1.4% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, where the dissolved contents are measured by a specific method.
Ambient humidity control article
An ambient humidity control article for controlling the ambient humidity within 65%-75%. The article includes a substrate which has a predetermined water absorbability, and a humidity control layer coated on the substrate. The humidity control layer is made up of a humidity control composition. The amount of the composition coated on per cubic centimeter of the substrate is 0.54-0.74 grams. The composition includes at least one chloride salt and water. The chloride salt includes at least one of NaCl, NH.sub.4Cl, KCl and MgCl.sub.2. The weight percentage of the chloride salt is 18%-44.6%. The water absorption amount of the substrate is not less than 0.5 grams per cubic centimeter. The article can control the ambient humidity without the need to pre-adjust the objective space. The article has a large capacity of moisture absorption and desorption and can quickly achieve the desired humidity in the objective environment.
USE OF AN ABSORBER MATERIAL FOR ABSORBING AND / OR DISTRIBUTING LIQUIDS IN AN ACTIVELY AND / OR PASSIVELY COOLED CURRENT-CARRYING SYSTEM
A method includes: providing an absorber material including: a casing; and superabsorbent particles arranged therein, and using the absorber material to absorb and/or distribute liquids in an actively and/or passively cooled current-carrying system including an actively and/or passively cooled power storage system. The casing has at least two plies arranged in a planar fashion on one another. Regions of the at least two plies are connected to one another by at least one seam such that the casing is segmented in a form of pockets separated from one another. At least some of the pockets have the superabsorbent particles.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESERVATION, TRANSPORT, AND ANALYSIS OF WATER SAMPLES
A device for collecting contaminants from water samples is provided. The device includes a solid sorbent that collects and stores the contaminants from water samples. The solid sorbent is configured to allow for the preservation of the stored contaminants. The concentrations of the contaminants in the water samples are determined via analysis of the solid sorbent or via elution of the stored contaminants from the sorbent and analysis of the eluate solution.

A blood purification device includes a porous molded body containing an inorganic ion-adsorbing material and is characterized by the following: said blood purification device satisfies the relationship B=−0.02 A+2.175±0.185 (74≤A≤94) when the moisture content of the porous molded body is denoted by A and the bulk density is denoted by B; and the number of fine particles having a size of 10 μm or more is 25 or less and the number of fine particles having a size of 25 μm or more is 3 or less in 1 mL of a physiological saline solution for injection both three months and six months after said physiological saline solution for injection is sealed in the blood purification device.
HAIR CARE APPARATUS
A curl iron, which is an example of the hair care apparatus of the present invention, includes a holding member, a first pinching member and a second pinching member 16, 18 for sandwiching hair, a desiccant holding container 12, a reproducible desiccant 10 held in the desiccant holding container 12, and a heater 14. The heater 14 is arranged on the hair treatment surface of the desiccant holding container 12 in the longitudinal direction of the desiccant holding container 12. The desiccant 10 is granular. The desiccant holding container 12 has a plurality of holes through which the desiccant 10 and debris of the desiccant cannot pass. The desiccant 10 heated by the heater 14 releases moisture absorbed by the desiccant 10. This moisture is arranged to the user's hair together with the air heated by the heater 14 through the plurality of holes and the air vent opening of the desiccant holding container 12.
Adsorbent boom for the containment of contaminant spills
A system, method for forming, and a method of manufacturing a boom for the containment of contaminants is disclosed. The boom includes a cover and an adsorbent or absorbent material disposed within the cover. The adsorbent or absorbent material may be formed of one or more sheets of flexible fabric folded upon itself to form a convoluted structure within the elongated cover. Additionally, the material disposed within the elongated cover may form a non-cylindrical cross-section. The material may be at least partially a polyester material.
Hydrocarbon-in-water purification system
A hydrocarbon-in-water purification system includes a high capacity hydrocarbon absorber stage having a high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material and an inlet configured to receive a hydrocarbon-in-water dispersion from a fuel system. A polishing hydrocarbon absorber stage is in liquid communication and downstream of the high capacity hydrocarbon absorber stage including polishing activated carbon. The high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material has a greater saturation capacity than the polishing activated carbon and the polishing activated carbon has a greater polishing capacity than the high capacity hydrocarbon absorber material. A method for controlling and managing the evacuation of water from the hydrocarbon-in-water purification system includes tracking the purification state of water volumes and the bed loading states of purification beds defined in the water filter.
FILTER FOR WATER-PURIFICATION DEVICE AND WATER-PURIFICATION DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
Disclosed is a filter for a water-purification device, the filter including a filter housing having a water inlet and a water outlet defined therein; and a filter member disposed in the filter housing to purify water introduced through the inlet and supply the purified water to the outlet, wherein the filter member includes a carbon block produced by mixing 40 to 50% by weight of titanium oxide, 30 to 40% by weight of activated carbon, and 18 to 23% by weight of binder with each other. Further, a water-purification device including the filter is disclosed.
ADSORBENTS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE REMOVAL OF HEAVY METALS FROM CONTAMINATED WATER
An adsorbent for a target compound can include porous carbon particles having pores with a predominant pore size less than 10 nm, and magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) nucleated on the carbon surface and within the pores of carbon particles to provide a carbon magnetic nanoparticle adsorbent (C-MNA). A method for removing target compounds with an adsorbent, a system for removing contaminants from a liquid, and a method for adsorbing target compounds from a fluid are also disclosed.
