A fixing device (1) for fixing workpieces, to fix substantially rod-shaped workpieces and workpieces to be machined by wire erosion or lasing, including a support apparatus (20) with a plurality of shaped elements (21) for accommodating and supporting a plurality of workpieces in the correspondingly formed shaped elements (21), and for positioning and fixing the workpieces in at least one translatory degree of freedom (22) in the shaped elements (21), wherein the fixing device (1) has a clamping apparatus (50) by means of which pressure force (52) can be applied to a plurality of workpieces accommodated in the shaped elements (21) so that the workpieces are fixed in the clamping apparatus (50) at least in a friction lock due to the applied pressure force, and wherein the support apparatus (20) as shaped elements (21) includes a plurality of passages (30) through which the workpieces can be guided.
Device and method for holding prosthetic teeth
The invention relates to a device for holding prosthetic teeth (2), the device comprising a negative form (1) and at least one clamping unit (6), wherein in the negative form (1), recesses (4) for holding coronal sides (12) of the prosthetic teeth (2) are provided, wherein the recesses (4) are formed in such a manner that the prosthetic teeth (2) can be inserted in an unequivocally position and orientation into the recesses (4), wherein the at least one clamping unit (6) is affixable or is affixed to the negative form (1) with a connecting means (10), and wherein the at least one clamping unit (6) has at least one elastic holding means (8), wherein with the at least one elastic holding means (8), an elastic force is exercisable or is exerted from at least two different directions onto the prosthetic teeth (2) inserted into the negative form (1), while the at least one clamping unit (6) is affixed to the negative form (1), so that the prosthetic teeth (2) are affixed in the device. The invention also relates to a method for affixing, and preferably processing, prosthetic teeth (2) and a set for implementing such a method, having several prefabricated prosthetic teeth (2) and at least one such device.
Vise jaws for holding irregular shaped objects and method of installing them on prior art vises
The invention relates to vise pivotal jaws for holding irregular shaped objects and that are modular to work on various sized prior art vises. Also relates to pivotal jaws having aid to return back to a neutral center position. The design allows ease of disassembly for cleaning and reassembly.
Machining table
A method and apparatus to provide a machining table in which an article can be secured to the table. The table provides a plurality of clamp blocks which can be placed on the table in custom positions. The orientation of the clamp blocks can also be adjusted by adjustments bolts so that the desired angle of the article can be maintained before machining it. As such, a round article (e.g., a pipe) can be secured through the clamp blocks so that the article can be machined. The table would secure the article such that even a lot of force or pressure on the article would not cause the article to move.
Vise jaw base plate adapters including soft jaws
Vise jaws are provided with base plates having bolt receiving holes or slots passing therethrough near top edges thereof. Soft jaws formed of a readily machinable material are provided with threaded bores which can receive bolts passing through the holes or slots in the base plates, the bolts also pass into the threaded bores to hold the soft jaws to the base plates. The soft jaws can be provided with a modified contour to match a geometry of a workpiece to be held. A locating pin can cooperate with alignment holes and alignment bores in the base plates and soft jaws for precise alignment of the base plates and soft jaws together. Adapters are also provided which can attach to surfaces of base plates and be rotated to present edges at a variety of different angles for supporting of workpieces in various angled orientations.
REROUNDING TOOL FOR REROUNDING OF TUBULAR STRUCTURES AND THE LIKE
A method for rerounding a tubular structure includes the steps of: (1) inserting the tubular structure into a rerounding tool that is in an open position, the rerounding tool having a first block with a first semi-circular trough formed therein in a first surface thereof and a second block with a second semi-circular trough formed therein in a second surface thereof, the tubular structure being laid within the first trough; and (2) closing the rerounding tool by bringing the first surface into contact with the second surface such that the tubular structure is also received within the second semi-circular trough resulting in rerounding of the tubular structure due to the first semi-circular trough and the second semi-circular trough defining a cylindrical cavity.
Vise
A vise includes a base plate that receives a fixed jaw and a pusher jaw. The fixed jaw receiving portion of the base plate includes particular stations for receiving the fixed jaw, the particular stations defined by at least a latitudinal slot at each particular station, each latitudinal slot configured for receiving a latitudinal tab extending from the bottom of the fixed jaw. A longitudinal slot traversing a length of the fixed jaw receiving portion of the base plate may receive a longitudinal tab extending from the bottom of the fixed jaw. Double-threaded lock bolts secure the fixed jaw to the base plate once the tabs are engaged with the slots of the base plate. The pusher jaw portion of the base plate includes a worm shaft, a threaded portion of the worm shaft engaging a worm shaft mating portion milled from the bottom of the pusher jaw. The pusher jaw portion of the base plate also includes a slide bar cavity arrangement into which slide bars at the bottom of the pusher jaw slide previous to engagement of the worm shaft with the worm shaft mating portion of the pusher jaw.
TUBE FIXTURE AND SYSTEM
A fixture for holding a barrel-shaped part, including an interior surface, in a fixed position includes a body configured to fit inside the barrel-shaped part and a support ring coupled to the body. The support ring includes a peripheral channel. The fixture further includes a bladder tube engaged with the peripheral channel of the support ring and inflatable to engage the interior surface of the barrel-shaped part when the body is inside the barrel-shaped part.
Workpiece securing device
This disclosure is directed to a method for forming and using one or more workpiece securing devices to reduce the deflections and vibrations of the workpiece during machining, as well as the time and labor associated with machining multiple workpieces. The method includes depositing material onto a surface of a movable jaw of a vise to form a first jaw protrusion and depositing material onto a surface of a stationary jaw of the vise to form a second jaw protrusion. A workpiece can be secured between the first and second jaw protrusions and then can be machined.
Compensating face plate vise jaws and related methods
Disclosed generally is a face plate for a vise that is capable of gripping multiple work-pieces of different sizes at the same time. In one embodiment, the disclosed subject matter may be a vise face plate comprising: a base with an upper compensation structure and a lower compensation structure; and, wherein the upper and lower compensation structures define two sets of working surfaces. In use, the plate may be secured to a movable jaw so that the working surfaces may be employed to clamp a plurality of work pieces between the working surfaces and a fixed jaw.
