The magnetic drill press further includes an electric motor supported by the motor carriage and configured to rotate a bit about a bit axis, and a spindle assembly supported by the housing and coupled to the motor carriage for selectively positioning the motor carriage relative to the housing. The magnetic drill press further includes a handle hub coupled to the spindle assembly, and a ratchet assembly including a ratchet head coupled to the handle hub and a ratchet handle coupled to the ratchet head for actuating the spindle assembly by reciprocating motion of the ratchet handle.

Construction site referencing

A method of automated spatial worksite referencing of a networked electronic measuring device with awareness of a rough location information of itself at a worksite location. The method includes querying a database for construction plan information about the rough location and its vicinity and about an actual work progress, computing an actual-state nominal spatial information at the rough location and its vicinity, automatically determining of a fine location of the networked electronic measuring device at the worksite location, by at least one iteration of: automatically determining a measurement point in the vicinity and measuring the measurement point using measurement functionality of the device, and then automatically assimilating the measurement point to the actual-state nominal spatial information and thereby determining the fine location information. When a desired level of accuracy of the determined fine location is not reached, performed another iteration with another additional measurement point is performed.

Method and device for ascertaining the orientation of a drill relative to a plane

A device for ascertaining the orientation of a drill relative to a plane, the device being capable of being connected to the drill, the device having a laser distance measuring unit by which, from a prespecified position relative to the plane, a first distance to a first point in the plane and a second distance to a second point in the plane can be measured, and having an evaluation unit that is configured such that on the basis of the first distance and the second distance the orientation of the device relative to the plane can be ascertained.

Projection system, projection device and projection method

A projection system includes a projection device that projects drawings individually onto a plurality of work spots in a work site. The projection device includes a driver that changes an orientation of the projection device. When drawings are individually projected onto a first work spot and a second work spot in a stated sequence, and the second work spot is outside a projection angle that is projectable by the projection device, the driver changes the orientation of the projection device to include the second work spot within the projection angle after work at the first work spot is finished. The first work spot and the second work spot are included in the plurality of work spots.

A manual workstation operating method includes: receiving, from a remote data-processing device, information relating to partial operating steps for producing a component at a manual workstation unit, the partial operation being established from order data by the remote data-processing device, displaying the information with respect to the partial operating steps by a user interface of the manual workstation unit, detecting component status data of the component by a sensor of the manual workstation unit, and transmitting at least one of the component status data and a production progress of the component based on the component status data to the remote data-processing device, such that the remote data-processing device can detect the production progress of the component and communicate completion of the component to a user or a data-processing system.

Laser level, battery pack and system

A laser level including a housing. At least one laser generator supported by the housing and configured to emit at least one laser beam. A battery receiving portion configured to selectively receive a first battery pack and a second battery pack, the first and second battery packs providing power for the laser generator when received in the battery receiving portion. The first battery pack is configured to be coupleable to at least one of a drill, a saw and a sander. The second battery pack is configured to be blocked from coupling from the at least one of the drill, the saw and the sander to which the first battery pack is coupleable.

Light-projecting of installation-location patterns onto installation surfaces

A light module projects multiple light beams onto an installation surface to form multiple light indicia spaced apart in a pattern on the installation surface, with the light indicia identifying installation locations on the installation surface where construction mounts are then installed. Embodiments include systems in which the light module includes a light emitter that projects a source light beam and a diffractor that diffuses the source light beam into the multiple light beams, systems in which the light module is adjustably mounted to and movable with a handheld tool used to install the construction mounts, systems in which the light module is adjustably mounted to a static-use support, and methods of using these systems to install the construction mounts.
