A method and apparatus are disclosed for forming containers. The containers may be cans, including composite cans. The apparatus may include a cylindrical mandrel and a blank may be formed into a cylindrical tube around the mandrel. Rotational apparatuses may engage portions of a blank that may be in a flat configuration and may rotate the portions around the outward cylindrical surface of the mandrel. Free edges of the tubular blank may be sealed by a sealing strip that may be T-shaped in cross section. A cup may be installed in an end opening, such as a bottom end, of the cylindrical tube. The cup may be sealed in the end opening by a seaming process using a seaming apparatus.

Liquid paper container

A liquid paper container capable of preventing leakage of a liquid and intrusion of, for example, air into the container through a gap between a part of a corresponding one of top-portion horizontal folding creases formed in a blank sheet and a top-portion horizontal folding crease formed in a side sealing panel, which overlap with each other, top panels (11, 12) and side panels (15, 16) are respectively contiguous with upper ends of body panels through top-portion horizontal folding creases (9, 10, 13, 14). Bottom panels (21, 22) and inner panels (25, 26) are respectively contiguous with lower ends of the body panels through bottom-portion horizontal folding creases (19, 20, 23, 24). A side sealing panel (30) is contiguous with a one-side open end edge of a blank sheet (1A). A top-portion horizontal folding crease (31) and a bottom-portion horizontal folding crease (32) are formed in the side sealing panel.

METHODS FOR IMPROVED ADHESION OF A COATING TO A SUBSTRATE SURFACE AND ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM

A method including providing a substrate including a substrate surface with a first surface free energy; treating one or more sections of the substrate surface by applying a coating including an ink and/or at least one ink component; and applying a wax coating to at least one of the one or more treated sections of the substrate surface, in which the wax coating has a second surface free energy and the coating including the ink and/or ink component has a third surface free energy that is greater than the second surface free energy such that adhesion of the wax coating to the treated sections of the substrate surface is increased. Also provided is an article formed from a treated substrate.

RECYCLABLE LEAK RESISTANT CORRUGATED BOX
20200031517 · 2020-01-30 · ·

A repulpable leak resistant poultry box having a composite corrugated structure with a fluted medium formed with a top backing board secured to one side of the fluted medium and a bottom backing board secured to the other side of the fluted medium, all of which are impregnated with a hydrogenated triglyceride and the backing boards are coated with an acrylic styrene copolymer. In one embodiment, the box has a bottom panel and end panels integral to bottom panel positioned at opposite ends of the bottom panel and separated by a fold line from the bottom panel. The side panels assemblies are integral with the bottom panel with each side panel being separated by a fold line and have a plurality of reinforcing end panels extending from opposite ends of the side panel and integral foldable cover members connected to the side panels by a fold line. The reinforcing end panels are connected to an adjacent end panel integral with the bottom panel by a corner tab formed by an angled cut adjacent each bottom corner of the end panel. A plurality of insert members are secured to opposing side panels, an end panel and the reinforcing end panels in the interior of the corrugated box.

Another box embodiment has a bottom panel, side panels assemblies integral with the bottom panel and end panels integral with the bottom panel. The side panel assemblies comprise a side panel and a plurality of reinforcing end panels positioned adjacent each side panel. Each of the reinforcing panels in the side panel assembly defines a U-shaped cut out which is aligned with a cut out in the end panel to present a single uniformly configured cut out. The end panels define a tab in each bottom corner connected to a reinforcing end panel to seal a bottom corner of the box.
