20230212825 · 2023-07-06 · ·

The invention discloses a paperboard for packaging of a heat-sealable packaging material comprising: —a paperboard substrate comprising a first and a second side, —a first and an optional second dispersion coating layer on the first side, which first and optional second dispersion coating layer provides a barrier against at least one of liquid, moisture, grease and gas, —an extrusion coated barrier layer comprising a polyolefin, wherein the first and optional second dispersion coating layer is applied between the paperboard substrate and the extrusion coated barrier layer, and wherein the coat weight of the extrusion coated barrier layer is less than 15 gsm. The packaging material according of the invention minimizes the amount of plastic coating, but still provides the needed barrier properties for the packaging of food and/or liquid. The packaging material has especially been shown to provide a longer shelf life for food items packed in a packaging made from the material. Especially, the packaging material provides gas-, liquid and/or grease barrier properties. Although the packaging material comprises such low amount of extruded thermoplastic polymers, the material is readily heat-sealable.

Needle-punched structures containing recycled fibers

Textiles are re-cycled by grinding and scatter-laying onto a needle-punched web optionally containing low-melting material, followed by laying a second needle-punched web over the scattered layer and re-needling the three layers before applying heat or heat and pressure to activate the low-melting ground material present within the layers. Additional low-melt ground material is optionally blended into the ground textile if low melt components are absent or insufficient to bond the composite. The ground material is driven and dispersed into the surrounding web layers with at least part of the material being adjacent the two outer surfaces. The physical properties of the composite can be adjusted by selecting suitable combinations including but not limited to needling stroke depth, needling density, needle gage, low-melt content, heat finishing conditions, and relative layer weights. The final composites can optionally be reintroduced into the original end use and include significant percentages of recycled material.

COMPOSITELY STRUCTURED INSULATION ADHESIVE FILM AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

The insulation adhesive film material is composed of a three-layer structure, its insulation polymer composite is supported by a thin film material, and a surface of the insulation polymer composite is covered with a layer of protective film. A release force of a support film is 25-60 μN/mm, and a release force of the protective film is 2-60 μN/mm. A thickness of the insulation polymer composite is 1-300 μm. The insulation adhesive film material is prepared as follows: after a high molecular polymer, an inorganic filler, a high molecular polymer curing agent, a molding auxiliary agent, and a solvent are mixed, dispersion technologies such as ball milling, sand milling, ultrasound are conducted to prepare an electronic paste of the insulation polymer composite, and the electronic paste is then applied to a surface of a support film material, and bonded with the protective film to form the insulation adhesive film material.

Polyimide-based composite carbon film with high thermal conductivity and preparation method therefor

The present invention discloses a polyimide-based composite carbon film with high thermal conductivity and a preparation method therefor. The preparation method includes: uniformly coating the surface of a polyimide-based carbon film with an aqueous graphene oxide solution, and then covering the same with another polyimide-based carbon film uniformly coated with an aqueous graphene oxide solution; repeating such operation; after the polyimide-based carbon films are dried, bonding the polyimide-based carbon films by means of graphene oxide so as to form a thick film; bonding the polyimide-based carbon films more tightly by means of further low-temperature hot pressing; and finally, obtaining a thick polyimide-based carbon film with high thermal conductivity by repairing defects by means of low-temperature heating pre-reduction and high-temperature and high-pressure thermal treatment. The thick polyimide-based carbon film with high thermal conductivity has a thickness greater than 100 μm and an in-plane thermal conductivity of even reaching 1700 W/mK or above.

AUTOMOTIVE GLAZING WITH ANTI-FINGERPRINT COATING

Due to the increased glazed area of modern vehicles, especially the large panoramic glass roofs, we have seen a substantial growth in the use of anti-reflective coatings. Unfortunately, these types of coatings accentuate fingerprints and smudges. The invention provides an automotive glazing which is substantially resistant to fingerprints, and a method of manufacture thereof through the application of an anti-fingerprint coating based on low surface energy silanes.

CARPET TILES FOR MINIMALLY PREPARED SUBFLOORS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
20220396915 · 2022-12-15 · ·

A carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, an extruded polymer secondary backing layer, and a cushion, comprising a reinforcing scrim layer within a polymer layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the cushion, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform secondary backing layer, and the cushion is laid onto the extruded polymer secondary backing layer while the extruded polymer secondary backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer secondary layer, and the entire web is chilled.
