3D ANTI-COUNTERFEITING PATTERN AND PROCESSING OF THE SAME
A 3D physical unclonable functions (PUF) system produced based on harnessing the out-of-plane crumpling of a layer of 2D material during shrinkage of a substrate carrying such layer. The structural details of the so-formed 3D PUF pattern are extracted from the tags in a layer-by-layer fashion using confocal laser microscopy imaging and then reconstructed to form the 3D PUF keys and stored in the database, serving as a secure anti-counterfeiting PUF that demonstrates encoding capacity in excess of 10.sup.40,000,000. Authentication is performed with a customized trained Siamese neural network framework in a matter of few minutes in a fashion that does not depend on rotation, linear translation, tilt, variations of contrast and/or resolution of the extracted optical images.
CARD AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE CARD
The invention relates to a card, in particular a chip card, including a computing unit for managing electronic coin data records, the electronic coin data records being issued by a central entity, and a card body with visible data and at least one visible feature. The central entity is at the same time the issuer or administrator of a series of banknotes and the at least one visible feature identifies the card as part of the series of banknotes to an observer. In addition, a method for producing such a card is also proposed.

Hinged laminate body, booklet, and laminate body
Provided are a hinged laminate body, a booklet, and a laminate body that are able to increase the installation area of a member for authenticity determination. A hinged laminate body is configured so as to be able to increase the installation area of a member for authenticity determination by being provided with: an upper transparent layer; watermarked paper that is arranged below the upper transparent layer; and a hinge layer that has a hinge portion protruding from the upper transparent layer in a plan view and that is arranged below the watermarked paper. The watermarked paper of the hinged laminate body is provided with: an inner watermarked paper section that is arranged between the upper transparent layer and the hinge layer; and an outer watermarked paper section that is provided to the hinge portion so as to be arranged contiguously with the inner watermarked paper section.
Display body
A prism layer has an uneven surface that includes at least one display region. An interface layer is adjacent to the uneven surface. The interface layer has a difference in refractive index from the prism layer such that a refractive index of a side of an interface between the uneven surface and the interface layer at which the prism layer is located is higher than a refractive index of a side of the interface at which the light interference layer is located. The display region includes inclination elements. The inclination elements adjacent to each other in an array direction contact each other in a plan view facing a plane along which the prism layer expands. The inclination elements include first inclination elements among which the inclination angle increases by the even angles along the array direction.
OPTICALLY VARIABLE SECURITY DEVICES
An optical device is formed by hot stamping a demetallized hologram to an optically variable foil or to a coating of optically variable ink. In another embodiment a hologram is hot stamped to a banknote or document printed with a color-shifting ink.
Printed rigid plastic substrates
A process for preparing a printed rigid plastic substrate is described, the process comprising: providing a rigid plastic substrate comprising a primer on a surface of the rigid plastic substrate, the primer comprising a primer resin; printing a liquid electrophotographic ink composition comprising a thermoplastic resin onto the primer on the surface of the rigid plastic substrate; depositing a cross-linking composition comprising a cross-linker onto the printed electrophotographic ink composition disposed on the primer; and laminating the rigid plastic substrate with a flexible film such that the ink composition and the cross-linker are disposed between the rigid substrate and the flexible film and wherein the lamination of the rigid substrate with the flexible film causes cross-linking of the thermoplastic resin of the ink composition and of the primer resin.
Method of protecting security elements from heat degradation during a heat-sealing process
A blister pack includes a housing having a plurality of cavities and a cover sealed to the housing and enclosing the cavities. The cover includes a base layer, at least one security element, and a heat protection layer. The heat protection layer includes one of an amorphous polymer and a semi-crystalline polymer.
