Liquid vehicle tank comprising a fastened component
A liquid vehicle tank (1) having a wall made of a plastic material, the tank (1) comprising a component (3, 5) affixed to the wall, the component (3, 5) having a portion (10) embedded in the wall, the embedded portion (10) having an external surface (21) a part of which is chemically incompatible with the plastic material of the wall, wherein the tank (1) also comprises a strengthening element welded to the wall over the embedded portion (10) of the component (3, 5).
High-pressure gas tank and movable body
A high-pressure gas tank includes: a tank body section; a base attached to an opening of the tank body section; a valve attached to an opening of the base so as to open and close a gas supply-discharge port of the tank body section, a part of the valve being inserted in the base, and the valve having a contact surface that contacts a seat surface as a surface of an end of the base, the surface of the end of the base forming the opening of the base; and a seal member arranged between an outer peripheral surface of a portion of the valve that is inserted in the opening of the base and an inner peripheral surface of the base. A slit for forming a communication hole communicating between outside of the high-pressure gas tank and a space between the base and valve is provided.
Resin-made fuel tank
A resin-made fuel tank includes: a resin-made fuel tank body provided by bonding an upper half body and a lower half body to each other; and a barrier sheet layer provided on an inner surface of the fuel tank body and provided for reducing permeation of fuel from the fuel tank body, wherein an edge of the barrier sheet layer is disposed in a vicinity of an upper bonding surface and a lower bonding surface where the upper half body and the lower half body are bonded to each other in a mating manner, the edge has a bent portion which bends toward an outside of the fuel tank body, and the bent portion is embedded in the fuel tank body at a position spaced apart from the upper bonding surface and the lower bonding surface.
Method and system for forming a self-sealing volume with an aqueous polyurethane dispersion layer
A fabric coated or impregnated with an elastomeric material may include a polyurethane dispersion layer combined with a sealant. The fabric may be applied in such a fashion so as to enable the elimination of solvent or fluid that is associated with the elastomer. The polyurethane dispersion layer generally comprises an elastomeric material dispersed or dissolved in a liquid medium, such as, but not limited to, water. At the same time, the integrity of the elastomeric composite which is formed from the dispersion and sealant layers may be maintained in order to minimize the presence of air voids and pockets. It has thus been realized that in doing so the performance of the self-sealing volume is dramatically improved. This method of construction usually may be accomplished without significantly adding to the weight or thickness of the volume and without affecting the outer dimension of the self-sealing volume.
Fuel tank
A fuel tank includes: a tank main body made of a resin material; and a cover member which is formed using threads made of a fiber-reinforced composite material containing a thermoplastic resin fusible to a surface of the tank main body. The cover member has a twill weave structure at least in its portion fused to the upper surface of the tank main body. The threads each have a core-sheath structure in which a fiber made of a polypropylene resin is coated with a polyethylene resin.
Plastic tank
A plastic tank for a motor vehicle and a method for producing such a plastic tank for a motor vehicle. The tank shell has a multi-layered structure, including at least one layer composed of high-density polyethylene, at least one barrier layer, and at least one regrind layer composed of recycled plastic arranged between the at least one layer composed of high-density polyethylene and the at least one barrier layer. The at least one regrind layer and/or the at least one layer composed of high-density polyethylene contains spherical fillers or fibrous fillers.
PLASTIC TANK AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A PLASTIC TANK
A tank that includes a tank wall composed of a plastic material, and at least one reinforcing profile member configured to minimize deformation of the plastic tank. The at least one reinforcing profile member is configured for arrangement on an outer side of the tank wall to be engaged by the tank wall and establish a positive material bond connection therewith. The at least one reinforcing profile member has a retaining geometry region with a plurality of openings through and/or into which material of the tank wall extends and onto a rear side of the reinforcing profile member facing away from the tank wall to thereby establish the positive material bond connection between the tank wall and the at least one reinforcing profile member at the retaining geometry region.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONFORMABLE FUEL TANK
Filling methods and systems are provided for a conformable fuel tank. In one example, a system comprises an active thermal management arrangement for the conformable fuel tank. The active thermal management arrangement comprises one or more recirculation passage for mixing hot fuel distal to an inlet port of the conformable fuel tank with cool incoming fuel flowing to the inlet port.
Method for manufacturing high-pressure tank
A method for manufacturing a high-pressure tank, capable of removing bubbles inside a carbon-fiber layer and those on an outer surface thereof without deteriorating a strength of the carbon-fiber layer, preventing a defective appearance, reducing variations in size, and thereby manufacturing a high-pressure tank having an excellent strength is provided. A method for manufacturing a high-pressure tank includes an uncured carbon-fiber layer forming step of forming an uncured carbon-fiber layer around a liner, a glass-fiber layer forming step of forming an uncured glass-fiber layer around the uncured carbon-fiber layer, a pin inserting step of inserting a tubular pin disposed therein from an uncured glass-fiber layer side to an interface of the uncured carbon-fiber layer, a gas sucking step of sucking a gas from the pin, and a thermally-curing treatment step of forming a glass-fiber layer and a carbon-fiber layer.
Motor vehicle tank having volume element
A fuel tank for receiving a fluid in a motor vehicle. The fuel tank includes an outer wall forming an internal space for receiving the fluid. At least one volume element is arranged in the internal space for receiving air, and an opening that is a gas-guiding line between the volume element and the environment of the tank is for changing the volume of the volume element. The at least one volume element is formed at least partially as bellows.
