In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a method is described. According to the method, an actual volume of fuel added to at least one fuel tank is determined. It is also determined, an amount of fuel indicated as having been added to the fuel tank from a refueling station. The actual volume added is compared to the amount of fuel indicated as having been added to determine a difference between the two values.

Systems and methods for coordinating remote fuel delivery to vehicles

Methods and systems are provided for conducting remote refueling events of a passenger vehicle, and for coordinating said remote refueling events with a fuel tank fill level prior to the remote refueling event, a loading state of a fuel vapor storage device, and current and predicted fuel tank pressure. In one example, an amount of fuel that can be added to the fuel tank without overwhelming a capacity of the fuel vapor storage device is increased responsive to scheduling the remote refueling event to take place at a time when the fuel tank is at a negative pressure, thus resulting in partial purge of the fuel vapor storage device prior to commencing refueling. In this way, environmentally friendly refueling events may be enabled, thus reducing the potential for undesired evaporative emissions during refueling events.

System and Method for Identifying a Fuel Loss Event

In a method and a corresponding system for identifying a fuel loss event, periodic measurements of a measured volume of fuel stored in a fuel tank (mobile or stationary) are received, and a measurement of a dispensed volume of fuel dispensed into the fuel tank is received from a fueling station. A total volume of fuel is determined equal to the sum of the dispensed volume of fuel and the measured volume of fuel last measured prior to receiving from a fueling station. A difference is determined between the total volume and the measured volume of fuel first measured subsequent to determining the total volume. If the difference exceeds a predetermined threshold indicating a fuel loss event, an alert is generated indicating that there is a fuel loss event.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A FILLING PROCESS OF A MOTOR VEHICLE TANK AND MOTOR VEHICLE TANK FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

A method for controlling a filling process of a motor vehicle tank comprising the following steps: determine a geographic location of the motor vehicle tank; determining, by means of the tank control device, whether the geographical position of the motor vehicle tank is within a predetermined geographical area; and determining a shutdown fill volume dependent on the geographical position of the motor vehicle tank, if the geographical position of the motor vehicle tank is within the predetermined geographical area.

Fuel measurement system and fuel gauge error reduction method using the same

A fuel measurement system and a fuel gauge error reduction method are provided. The fuel gauge error reduction method includes determining a driving mode of a vehicle based on an external input condition; calculating a remaining amount of fuel using a different manner corresponding to each driving mode; and providing the calculated remaining amount of fuel.

Vehicle fuel volume estimation systems and methods

Vehicle fuel volume estimation systems and methods are provided herein. An example method includes determining a fuel level percentage value for a vehicle, determining a vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle, determining a fuel tank part number using the VIN, converting the fuel level percentage value into a fuel volume value based on the fuel tank part number, and transmitting a message to a recipient, the message that includes the fuel volume value.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING INTEGRITY OF A CRYOGENIC FUEL TANK

A fuel system for a machine may include a fuel tank configured to hold cryogenic fuel, a pressure sensor, and an electronic control module (ECM). The ECM may determine a change in pressure of the fuel between a first time and a second time, determine a predicted change in pressure of the fuel between the first time and the second time, and determine that the change in pressure and the predicted change in pressure is greater than a threshold. Based on the change in pressure and the predicted change in pressure being greater than the threshold, a notification may be displayed associated with an integrity of the fuel tank.
