FUEL FILLER PORT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A fuel filler port includes a resin fuel filler port main body formed tubular and having an interlock part on an outer circumferential surface thereof; an inlet metal fitting at least having an outer tube part formed tubular, positioned and disposed in the fuel filler port main body, and disposed to face the outer circumferential surface of the fuel filler port main body in a radial direction; and an earth metal fitting formed in a plate shape and interlocked with the interlock part. The earth metal fitting includes a tip bent part disposed between the outer circumferential surface of the fuel filler port main body and an inner circumferential surface of the outer tube part in the radial direction and disposed while having a biasing force in the radial direction with respect to the inner circumferential surface of the outer tube part.
BARRIER FILM-CONTAINING TANK SHELL WITH PERMEATION-SECURE CONNECTOR FORMATION FOR CONNECTING A SEPARATE CONDUIT COMPONENT
A tank shell for a motor vehicle tank, exhibiting a tank shell inner surface facing towards the tank volume surrounded by it and a tank shell outer surface facing away from the tank volume surrounded by it, where a tank shell wall exhibits at least section-wise a multilayer layer structure, where the layer structure having at least one interior wall section produced by injection molding and located nearer to the tank shell inner surface, at least one exterior wall section produced by injection molding and located nearer to the tank shell outer surface, and a barrier film located between the interior wall section and the exterior wall section, where the tank shell wall exhibits at least one aperture penetrating through the tank shell wall along an aperture path, where a section of the barrier film is exposed in the region of the aperture; the section of the barrier film exposed in the region of the aperture is configured integrally with the barrier film in the tank shell wall and for contacting by a sealing arrangement of a conduit component realized separately from the tank shell wall.
Plastic Filler Neck for Vehicles
A method can be used to form a plastic filler neck for a vehicle. The method includes providing a fuel injection pipe comprising a polyamide material containing nanoclay and having a single layer structure in cross-section, inserting and fastening a retainer into an internal space of a tip of the fuel injection pipe to support a refueling gun, directly fastening a cap holder to the tip of the fuel injection pipe, and mounting an air drain casing to an outer diameter portion of the cap holder fastened to the fuel injection pipe using a mounting bracket.
All in one fuel tank assembly
The present invention relates to an all in one fuel tank assembly, and a process of manufacturing the same, for use in commercial vehicles, and more particularly, to an all in one fuel tank assembly that allows multiple components to be manufactured as a single integral structure, such as a single extruded device including a draw tube, a return tube, a fuel sender device, and a vent, for example.
Vehicle fuel pump cover assembly and method
A fuel pump cover assembly and method for a vehicle includes a cover arranged over the vehicle fuel pump for inhibiting water access to the vehicle fuel pump and at least one clip securing the cover to a feed line for the vehicle fuel pump.
Plastic filler neck for vehicles
A plastic filler neck for vehicles includes a fuel injection pipe, a retainer inserted and fastened into an internal space of a tip of the fuel injection pipe to support a refueling gun, a cap holder directly fastened to the tip of the fuel injection pipe by fusion, and an air drain casing mounted, by a mounting bracket, to an outer diameter portion of the cap holder fastened to the fuel injection pipe.
TANK ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A tank assembly for a motor vehicle includes an axially extending compressed gas tank having a middle portion and axially terminal end portions, and a tank support configured to fasten the compressed gas tank to a vehicle body. The tank assembly has a guard device that catches the compressed gas tank in the event the tank and/or support become partially or fully detached from the vehicle. A guard support is configured to secure the guard device to the vehicle body. A retaining element forms an axial stop for a first end portion, and at least one pliable tension element, which extends axially and connects the retaining element to the guard support in a tension-transmitting manner.
Fuel Tank Fastening Assembly for a Motorcycle, and Motorcycle Assembly
A fuel tank fastening assembly for a motorcycle includes a fuel tank, a holding bracket secured to the fuel tank, and a battery carrier. The holding bracket is fastened to a mount on the battery carrier. A motorcycle assembly includes the fuel tank fastening assembly and a motorcycle frame. The battery carrier of the fuel tank fastening assembly is fastened to the motorcycle frame, and a battery is accommodated and secured in the battery carrier.
Fuel pump with integral vapor trap system and related method
An in-tank fuel pump assembly and mounting system is disclosed which may be configured for mounting inside a fuel tank. The assembly includes a pump housing, pump mounted to the housing, and pressure relief valve. The housing may comprise upper and lower pump housing units coupled together. The upper housing unit is configured for mounting to a tank opening, which in one implementation may be the fuel fill opening. The lower housing unit extends into the tank to approximately the bottom of the tank. A fuel fill fluid pathway is created through the housing for adding fuel to the tank while the pump assembly remains in situ. The upper housing unit may include a removable fuel cap. The pump housing may include an integral vapor trap.
Fuel tank cover attachment assembly
A fuel tank cover attachment assembly includes a fuel pump cover and an attachment ring. The fuel pump cover has an attachment flange configured to overlay a surface surrounding a fuel tank opening such that with the fuel pump cover overlaying the surface, the fuel tank opening is covered. The attachment ring is dimensioned to cover the attachment flange of the fuel pump cover and attach to attachment features protruding from the surface. The attachment ring has a first flange member and a second flange member. The first flange member is fixedly attached to the attachment ring and extends upwardly therefrom. The second flange member is removably attached to the attachment ring and extending upwardly therefrom.
