The first heat exchanger may be adjacent to the battery module and/or in thermal contact with the battery module. The second heat exchanger may exchange heat with an environment external to a cabin of the vehicle. The reversing valve may reverse a fluid flow direction of the heat transfer circuit. The ventilation system may force air across the first heat exchanger or the second heat exchanger and direct the air into the cabin of the vehicle.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY PACK HAVING LONGITUDINAL REINFORCEMENTS
20230031269 · 2023-02-02 ·

An electric vehicle battery pack with a reinforced cover to better support vehicle cabin loads such as seat submerge loads, seat pitch loads, and the like. The cover has a number of reinforcing members affixed thereto and positioned over cross members of the battery pack frame. Loads imposed by the cabin are thus transferred to the reinforcing members and then to the rigid cross members. In this manner, battery packs of embodiments of the disclosure better support cabin loads applied thereto, improving their strength and better protecting more delicate components within the battery pack.

On-Board Charging System for Electric Vehicle
20230032078 · 2023-02-02 ·

An on-board charging system for an electric vehicle comprising a generator (Dynamo) 1, coupled to the wheel of the electric vehicle. The generator produces a charging voltage which is connected to a 12 V battery, via voltage regular, the 12 V battery, and is connected to the input of a Power Boaster, which boasts the voltage from 12 V at the input to 48 V at the output. A Dual battery isolator is connected between the secondary Lithium battery and the Main lithium battery, that supply power to the a gear drive of the electric vehicle. When there is a drop in the voltage of the main lithium battery, during operation, the intelligent dual battery isolator triggers a release of the stored voltage from the secondary lithium battery pack to instantaneously charge up the main lithium battery, supplying power to the electric vehicle drive.

Power prediction for reconfigurable series-connected battery with mixed battery chemistry

Powerflow of a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) is managed according to a method. The RESS has series-connected first and second battery elements with different characteristics. Each element, e.g., a pack, has a corresponding maximum or minimum voltage or current limit. Currents are predicted for each of the first and second battery elements via a controller using a corresponding voltage limit. A requested operating mode of the RESS is used to select a current for the elements. A voltage across the elements is predicted using the selected current and a corresponding battery state space model. The method predicts a total power capability of the RESS over a prediction horizon using the selected current to generate predicted power capability values. The requested operating mode is controlled over the horizon using the power capability values. A powertrain system includes the RESS, an inverter, an electric machine, and the controller.
