IMPACT ABSORBING STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLES

An impact absorbing structure for a vehicle according to the present invention includes: a resin frame member extending in a vehicle front-rear direction and having an opening portion in a surface thereof on one side in a vehicle width direction; and a strut member disposed in the opening portion of the frame member. The frame member includes a frame body having the opening portion, and a rib protruding at least either upward or downward from the frame body and extending in the vehicle front-rear direction. The strut member is disposed between a pair of opening edges for defining an upper edge and a lower edge of the opening portion and at a position abuttable against the paired opening edges, when the frame member is deformed by input of a load at a time of oblique collision from upward or oblique collision from downward.

Vehicle accessories

A bumper assembly is provided for a vehicle having a frame. The bumper assembly includes a winch cradle defining a cradle mounting aperture corresponding to a first frame aperture of the frame. A bumper member is configured to at least partially surround the winch cradle and extend laterally from the winch cradle across a portion of the vehicle. The bumper member defines a bumper mounting aperture corresponding to a second frame aperture. The winch cradle is configured to couple to the vehicle frame independent of the bumper member and the bumper member is configured to couple to the vehicle frame independent of the winch cradle.

IMPACT BEAM FOR VEHICLES

An exemplary impact beam for a vehicle includes a body defining a longitudinal axis of the impact beam. The body has a first longitudinal surface laterally separated from a second longitudinal surface, a first end including a first extension and a second extension such that the first and second extensions form a “T”-shape with the first and second longitudinal surfaces of the body, and a second end opposite the first end, the second end including a first extended portion and a second extended portion connected to the first extended portion by a connecting surface. The first extended portion is configured to extend into a first crush space defined by a fascia of the vehicle and the second extended portion is configured to extend into a second crush space defined by the fascia of the vehicle.

VEHICLE FRONT STRUCTURE

A vehicle front structure that reduces a shock load applied to immediately under a front grille by using a bumper beam as a support. A vehicle front structure includes a shock absorbing member at an interior of a bumper face on the side near an upper portion thereof which absorbs a load from the diagonally upper front side. The shock absorbing member is at the interior of the bumper face below a front grille, and includes a load receiving portion that receives a load, a locking portion locked to an upper end edge of a bumper beam located behind and below the load receiving portion, at the time of receding of the shock absorbing member, and a connecting portion connecting the load receiving portion and the locking portion. A deformation facilitating portion with respect to a load from the upper front side is thus configured at the connecting portion.

FRONT FASCIA FOR A VEHICLE

A front fascia for a vehicle includes an upper fascia member, a lower fascia member, a connection member, and a temporary connection member. The connection member extends between the upper fascia member and the lower fascia member. The temporary connection member extends between the upper fascia member and the lower fascia member. The temporary connection member is configured to be removable prior to installation of the front fascia to the vehicle.

FRONT FASCIA ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE

A front fascia assembly for a vehicle includes a front fascia, a support member and a grille member. The front fascia has a front surface and a rear surface. The support member is removably connected to the front surface of the front fascia. The grille member is connected to the rear surface of the front fascia to securely retain the support member to the front fascia.

A trim element on a vehicle is comprised of at least one trim element body and a design area that is modified to individualize the vehicle appearance. The design area includes at least one plastic panel which is structured for a three-dimensional appearance by laser processing, with the outer surface being unaffected.

Affixing device for pieces

The affixing device for pieces includes an affixing element (1) that can be positioned through an opening (6) in each one of the pieces (7, 8) that are affixed to each other, that also comprises a first and second retaining elements (2, 3), which, when they are in their affixing positions, are in contact with the pieces (7, 8) that are affixed to each other, with the affixing element (1) passing through the first and second retaining elements (2, 3), and with the first retaining element (2) including an accommodation space for a tool. This configuration allows for faster and simpler assembly of the affixing device, also avoiding problems of misalignment.

External airbag system for pedestrian protection

An external airbag system includes an airbag, a carrier, an inflator and a trim panel. The airbag has an upper chamber and a parallel lower chamber sealingly separated by a laterally extending first seam. The carrier is connected to the airbag at the first seam. The inflator is fixed relative to the carrier and is in fluid communication with the airbag. The trim panel is fixed to the carrier, enclosing the airbag therebetween. The trim panel has a tear seam substantially aligned with the airbag.
