A vehicle is equipped with a docking station for a driver's smart device. The smart device displays engine related and other information to the driver while operating the vehicle. The smart device provides a supplementary screen to the screen installed in the vehicle at manufacture, or acts as an alternative to having a screen installed at manufacture. The docked smart device replaces one or more of the instruments normally present in a vehicle dashboard or motorcycle instrument cluster. The smart device also controls operation of the vehicle.

VEHICULAR VISION SYSTEM WITH CENTER STACK DISPLAY AND MIRROR DISPLAY FOR SURROUND VIEW AND CMS CAMERAS
20210245662 · 2021-08-12 ·

A vehicular display system includes an electronic control unit (ECU), a plurality of bird's eye surround view cameras and a plurality of camera monitoring system (CMS) cameras disposed at the vehicle. The cameras capture image data and provide captured image data to the ECU. The system includes a video display screen and a video mirror display screen that are operable to display video images derived from video images provided by the ECU. When the vehicle is traveling forward at a speed below a threshold speed, the ECU generates rearward view video images derived from image data captured by the CMS cameras and provides the rearward view video images to the video display screen. When the vehicle is traveling forward at a speed at or above the threshold speed, the ECU generates rearward view video images and provides the rearward view video images to the video mirror display screen.

REARVIEW DEVICE WITH MOVEABLE HEAD ASSEMBLY AND VEHICLE THEREWITH

A rearview device for a vehicle includes a moveable head assembly; a base assembly to be fixed to the vehicle; an actuator assembly; and a cradle configured to attach the actuator assembly to the moveable head assembly and/or the base assembly and a vehicle with such a rearview device. The cradle has at least one tool protrusion on each side that enables attachment to a tool and facilities rotation of the cradle during assembly of the rearview device.

VEHICULAR CAMERA WITH METALLIC HOUSING

A vehicular camera includes a metallic front housing member having a circuit board attachment portion, a lens barrel extending outward from the circuit board attachment portion and accommodating at least one lens, and a circuit board having an imager disposed at a first side and a circuit board connector disposed at a second side. With the circuit board attached at the circuit board attachment portion, the at least one lens is aligned with the imager and the lens barrel is retained relative to the metallic front housing member via cured UV curable adhesive. A metallic rear housing member is attached to the metallic front housing member and the circuit board is accommodated in a cavity formed by the attached metallic front and metallic rear housing members. An electrical connector is electrically connected to the circuit board connector and is configured for electrically connecting to an electrical cable of a vehicle.

FLEXIBLE HUB FOR HANDLING MULTI-SENSOR DATA

A hub that receives sensor data streams and then distributes the data streams to the various systems that use the sensor data. A demultiplexer (demux) receives the streams, filters out undesired streams and provides desired streams to the proper multiplexer (mux) or muxes of a series of muxes. Each mux combines received streams and provides an output stream to a respective formatter or output block. The formatter or output block is configured based on the destination of the mux output stream, such as an image signal processor, a processor, memory or external transmission. The output block reformats the received stream to a format appropriate for the recipient and then provides the reformatted stream to that recipient.

Vehicular vision system with episodic display of video images showing approaching other vehicle

A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an exterior portion of a body side of the equipped vehicle and viewing sideward and rearward of the equipped vehicle. A video display screen is disposed in an interior cabin of the equipped vehicle and operable to display video images. When no other vehicle is detected in another traffic lane, the video display screen displays video images representative of a first portion of the exterior scene viewed by the camera. Responsive to determination that another vehicle is in the other traffic lane and approaching from rearward of the equipped vehicle, the video display screen displays video images representative of a second portion of the exterior scene that includes the determined other vehicle. Responsive to detection of the other vehicle, the video display screen displays a graphic overlay overlaying the displayed video images representative of the second portion of the exterior scene.
