Camera assembly for vehicle
A camera assembly for a vehicle includes a camera housing portion, an imaging sensor disposed at a base portion of the camera housing portion, and a lens system disposed at a first portion of the camera housing portion. A first circuit board includes circuitry associated with the imaging sensor, which is disposed at a second circuit board that is in board-to-board electrical connection with the first circuit board. The camera housing portion and a connector portion are configured to join together to encase the first and second circuit boards. The connector portion includes a multi-pin connector having terminals that include (i) a first terminal portion for electrically connecting with a connector of the vehicle and (ii) a second terminal portion for electrically connecting with circuitry disposed at the first circuit board.
System and method for operating a retractable sensor of an autonomous vehicle
A method of operating a vehicle having a roof-mounted sensor apparatus includes, by a retractable sensor, capturing data about an environment along a path on which the vehicle is traveling. The method includes, by a location sensor, determining a location of the vehicle along the path. By a computing device of the vehicle, the method includes accessing a map that corresponds to the location and the path, determining that a structure having a minimum clearance is ahead at an imminent location on the path, and determining that the minimum clearance is less than or equal to an elevation of the retractable sensor. The method includes prior to the vehicle arriving at the imminent location, automatically operating a lifting element of the sensor apparatus to withdraw the retractable sensor into the sensor apparatus so that the elevation of the retractable sensor is less than the minimum clearance of the structure.
Cleaning device for spinning surface
The technology relates to a system for cleating a sensor cover. The system may comprise a wiper comprising a wiper support, a wiper blade, and a sensor cover. The wiper blade may be configured to clear the sensor cover of debris, and the sensor cover may be configured to house one or more sensors. A wiper motor may rotate the wiper and a sensor motor may rotate the sensor cover. The system wiper blade may comprise a first edge attached to the wiper support and a second edge which may be configured to be in contact with the sensor cover. The wiper blade may extend in a corkscrew shape around the wiper support. The wiper motor may be configured to rotate the wiper in a first direction and the sensor motor may be configured to rotate the sensor cover in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Aftermarket side window wiper apparatus and method for a motor vehicle
A window wiper includes an elongated profile of waterproof flexible material having a base extending under weather stripping for a side vehicle window, a support connected along the base to extend above the weather stripping, a cover connected along the support and extending over the base for covering at least some of the weather stripping and a wiper portion connected along the support and having a resilient wiper area for pressing against the window. A length of adhesive tape is connected along the profile and extends over the base for adhering to the weather stripping to fix the window wiper to the weather stripping.
Camera module for vehicle
A camera module suitable for use for a vision system of a vehicle includes a camera housing portion having a generally cylindrical portion extending outwardly from a base portion. An imaging sensor is disposed at the base portion and a lens system is received at the cylindrical portion of the camera housing portion. The camera housing portion and a connector portion are configured to join together to encase the imaging sensor and circuitry. The connector portion may include a multi-pin connector extending in a direction away from the camera housing portion when the camera housing portion and the connector portion are joined together. The multi-pin connector may include a plurality of terminals, each of which has a first end having a pin configured to electrically connect with a connector of a vehicle and an opposing second end configured for electrical connection with the circuitry.
Vehicle display having a retractable screen and cleaning device
A cleaning device is provided for a window element, which is insertably and retractably provided in a vehicle panel of a vehicle, with a cleaning element designed so as to rotate around its longitudinal axis, and with a feeder device to supply cleaning liquid to the cleaning element for cleaning the window element. A vehicle is also provided with such a cleaning device.
CYLINDRICAL ROTATING DEBRIS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A debris management system includes a cylindrical housing configured to rotate and adapted to contain at least one sensor disposed within an internal volume of the cylindrical housing and having a field of view through an exterior surface of the cylindrical housing.
