Method and system for controlling propulsive power output of ship
A method and a system for controlling a propulsive power output applied to a propeller shaft of a ship. The ship includes the propeller shaft and a propulsive power source connected to the propeller shaft. A control signal for producing with the propulsive power source a propulsive power is varied within an interval limited by an upper control limit value and a lower control limit value. If a current value of an operational parameter of the ship reaches a first parameter limit value, the upper control limit value is reduced. Thus, the propulsive power source may be prevented from applying a too high power output to the propeller shaft, which would be unfavourable for the ship.

PROPULSION UNIT FOR A MARINE VESSEL
A propulsion unit for a marine vessel is adapted to receive power from at least one power supply unit. The propulsion unit includes a stationary part adapted to be mounted to a hull of the marine vessel, and a movable part comprising one or more thrust generating devices adapted to transform the received power into a thrust by acting on water carrying the marine vessel. The propulsion unit is adapted to receive exhaust gases from at least two internal combustion engines, wherein the movable part is adapted to release the exhaust gases into the water.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING PROPULSIVE POWER OUTPUT OF SHIP
A method and a system for controlling a propulsive power output applied to a propeller shaft of a ship. If a current value of a propulsive power of a propulsive power source equals or falls below a lower power limit value, and/or if a current value of an operational parameter reaches a first/lower parameter limit value, a control unit is configured to: increase a power output of an internal combustion engine of the propulsive power source. Thus, operation of the engine below a lower power limit is avoided.

OUTBOARD MOTOR
An outboard motor includes: an upper case supported on a hull; a lower case pivotably supported on the upper case; a first drive source disposed within the upper case; a planetary gear mechanism connected to the first drive source via an upper drive shaft; a propeller shaft connected to the planetary gear mechanism via a lower drive shaft; and a second drive source that provides the lower case with a torque. The planetary gear mechanism includes a sun gear, a planetary carrier supporting planetary gears and connected to an upper end of the lower drive shaft, and an internal gear. One of the sun gear and the internal gear is connected to the lower end of the upper drive shaft, and the other is connected to the lower case to provide the lower case with a torque in a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the lower drive shaft.
MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEM, OUTBOARD MOTOR, AND MARINE VESSEL
A marine propulsion system includes an outboard motor installed on a hull and including an engine to drive a propulsion generator, and a generator to generate power by driving of the engine, a capacitor provided in the outboard motor to smooth the power generated by the generator and output the smoothed power to a device on a hull side, and a power distributor provided in the outboard motor to limit an output from the capacitor to the device on the hull side.
SET OF PARTS FOR MARINE VESSEL PROPULSION ASSEMBLIES
A set of parts for marine vessel propulsion assemblies is provided A propulsion unit includes a driveshaft, and a first connection module comprising one or more input shafts, wherein the propulsion unit and the first connection module may form at least a portion of a first propulsion assembly. A second connection module comprising one or more input shafts, wherein the propulsion unit and the second connection module may form at least a portion of a second propulsion assembly. The positions, in relation to the propulsion unit, of output shafts of the first and second connection modules, when the first and second connection modules are mounted to the propulsion unit, are the same. The first propulsion assembly may differ from the second propulsion assembly in that the position, in relation to the propulsion unit, of one or more of the one or more input shafts of the first connection module differs from the position, in relation to the propulsion unit, of any of the one or more input shafts of the second connection module.
