System and method for simultaneously filling containers of different shapes and/or sizes
A system and method for simultaneously filling containers of different shapes and/or sizes are disclosed. A plurality of vehicles are routable along a track system to facilitate simultaneous delivery of first containers and second containers to different unit operation stations. The first and second containers may differ from one another in outer shape and/or interior volume.
System and method for simultaneously filling containers with different fluent compositions
A system and method for simultaneously filling containers with different fluent products are disclosed. The system includes a plurality of vehicles that are independently routable along a track system to deliver containers to at least one unit operation station for dispensing fluent materials into the containers. The containers receive one or more fluent materials that differ from another in ingredients and/or weight percentage of at least one ingredient.
System and method for aligning an object
A system and method for defined aligning of an object. A first object with a first alignment is fed. The first alignment is detected and transmitted to a control device. The control device determines a first rotation angle on the basis of the first alignment and a predefined first alignment, and a speed profile of a first translational movement for a first rotor with a differential speed between the guiding device and the first rotor on the basis of the first rotation angle and a predefined speed of the guiding device. The control device controls the first rotor in the first translational movement along the aligning zone on the basis of the determined speed profile, and the first rotor, in interaction with the guiding device, turns the first object to the first predefined alignment in a first rotation about the first rotation angle on the basis of the differential speed.
Apparatus for supporting an article during transport
An apparatus and method for supporting an article during transport is disclosed. The apparatus includes a support surface oriented to support an underside of an article to be transported. The apparatus also includes a plurality of pins distributed over at least a portion of the support surface and movable between an extended position and a retracted position, the plurality of pins being urged into the extended position such that a lateral retaining portion of each pin protrudes above the support surface. The underside of the article, when received on the support surface, causes a first portion of the plurality of pins underlying the article to be depressed into the retracted position while a second portion of the plurality of pins remain in the extended position such that the lateral retaining portions of pins disposed adjacent to the article constrain the article to prevent movement of the article on the support surface while being transported.
SYSTEM FOR ASSEMBLING AND FILLING ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES
A system for assembling electronic cigarette parts comprising cartridges and for filling the cartridges includes a first conveyor; a first group of carrier units connected to the first conveyor to be movable independently along the first conveyor and to receive and hold the parts; a first group of working stations for assembling/inspecting the cigarette parts on the first conveyor; a second conveyor, downstream of the first conveyor; and a second group of carrier units connected to the second conveyor to be movable independently along the second conveyor and to receive and hold the parts; a second group of working stations for assembling/inspecting the parts on the second conveyor; and a filling station, disposed between the first and second conveyors to receive the parts from the first conveyor, fill the respective cartridges, and feed the parts with the filled cartridges towards the second conveyor.
Method and apparatus for retaining contents in a conveyed container
A novel puck and cover assembly and method for retaining the contents of a container, such as a prescription bottle, during processing and order-filling operations. The puck and cover assembly allows access to the opening of a container when required to perform operations, and automatically returns to cover the opening of a container when operations are completed, to prevent loss of any container contents.
Fitment holder
Disclosed is a fitment holder that includes a base, a hub extending from the base, and a fitment positioning structure comprising a plurality of pins. The plurality of pins may be configured to engage a wing of the fitment and the plurality of pins may include a plurality of heads residing in a plurality of countersunk areas formed in the base. The plurality of pins may also include a plurality of ends extending from a top surface of the base.
SAMPLE RACK HANDLER AND ROTATION ASSEMBLY FOR A SAMPLE ANALYSIS SYSTEM
An embodiment is a sample analysis system for analyzing a sample that includes at least one test device for analyzing the sample. The system also includes a rack handler operable to move a sample from a first location to a second location along a travel path. The rack handler has a rotation assembly including a) an engagement element for engagement with the sample rack, and b) a motor coupled to the engagement element and is operable to cause rotation of the engagement element. The rotation assembly rotates the sample rack from a first orientation into a second orientation along the travel path when the engagement element engages the sample rack.
SAMPLE RACK FOR SAMPLE ANALYSIS SYSTEM
An embodiment of the disclosure is a rack adapted to engage a rack handler. The rack includes a rack body. The rack body has a bottom, a top opposite the bottom, and a receptacle that extends from the top toward the bottom. The receptacle is sized to receive the sample collection unit. The rack body has a first interior surface that extends from the bottom toward the top, and a second interior surface that extends from the bottom toward the top. The second interior surface is opposite to the first interior surface so as to at least partially define a slot along the bottom. The rack body also includes an interference groove in the slot along at least one of the first interior surface and the second interior surface. The slot and the interference groove are sized to engage a portion of the rack handler.
Holder for conveyance of cylindrical body
A holder for conveyance of a cylindrical body includes a tubular portion having a hollow portion in which a cylindrical body is housed, and a protrusion having a base end connected to an inner wall surface of the tubular portion and a distal end formed as a free end. The protrusion has elasticity and flexibility, and the protrusion is disposed on an inner diameter side of an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical body at an expected housing position such that a side surface of the distal end of the protrusion is allowed to come into contact with the outer circumferential surface while the protrusion is warped to an outer diameter side of the hollow portion.
