Elevator system hoistway access control
A hoistway access system for an elevator includes an access switch positioned at a selected landing floor 34 of an elevator and operably connected to a controller 46. A remote controlled lock 48 is located at landing doors of a landing floor providing access to a hoistway pit 36, and is operably connected to the controller. A safety actuation system is operably connected to an elevator car and operably connected to the controller. The controller is configured to command a drive system to drive the elevator car to an upper location when the access switch is activated, to define a selected safety volume in the hoistway defined by the hoistway pit and the elevator car, command engagement of the safety actuation system to stop and hold the elevator car, and command the lock to unlock when the safety actuation system is engaged, thereby allowing access to the hoistway via the landing doors.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A SERVICE ACCESS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ELEVATOR CAR
A system for controlling service access associated with an elevator car includes a divider configured to divide an elevator shaft into a plurality of service access zones; and a controller configured to control a locking state of at least one service access from inside the elevator car to the elevator shaft based on a service access zone of the plurality of service access zones at which the elevator car is located.
ELEVATOR SYSTEM WITH A PROTECTIVE SCREEN
An elevator system has a counterweight moveable in an elevator shaft for a weight equalization of an elevator car which can move in an opposite direction to the counterweight. A protective screen is arranged in a shaft pit of the elevator shaft and has a vertical portion oriented substantially parallel to a movement path of the counterweight. The protective screen prevents a person located in the shaft pit from entering the movement path of the counterweight. The protective screen has a horizontally arranged angulation, wherein an angled portion of the protective screen that adjoins the angulation extends into the projection of the counterweight in the movement direction.
EMERGENCY STOP SYSTEM FOR ELEVATOR
Disclosed is an elevator system having: a holding relay configured to energize and deenergize a circuit, the holding relay configured to communicate over a wireless network with a mobile device, wherein the holding relay is configured to: deenergize the circuit responsive to receiving a first signal via the wireless network from the mobile device, indicative of the mobile device being in or near a first architectural location.
CONTROLLING MOVEMENT OF AN ELEVATOR CAR OF AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
Elevator system (2) comprising: a hoistway (4) extending between a plurality of landings (8); at least one elevator car (6) configured for moving along the hoistway (4) between the plurality of landings (8); an elevator drive (5) configured for moving the at least one elevator car (6) along the hoistway (4); and an elevator control (9) configured for controlling the elevator drive (5). The elevator control (9) is configured for selectively operating in a normal operation mode or in a maintenance mode.
Elevator system and counterweight screen
An elevator system comprising a shaft having a pit, a car guided by a pair of first guide rails to be vertically movable in the shaft, a counterweight connected to the car by a suspension rope, the counterweight being guided by a pair of second guide rails to be vertically movable in the shaft, and a counterweight screen in a space between the counterweight and the car, the counterweight screen being attached to the second guide rails at the pit. The counterweight screen is a sandwich-structured composite panel.
Safety system for a service space within an elevator shaft
The invention concerns a safety arrangement of an elevator facility for safeguarding a work environment in an elevator shaft by actuating an actuator ensuring that an elevator car is not moving unintentionally during a safety situation, the elevator facility having a control system to which the safety arrangement is connected. According to the invention the safety arrangement comprises hydraulic activation means including a suspended floating platform being vertically movable, under which platform a sensing hydraulic cylinder is installed for activating the actuator upon loading of the platform.
Work area technician warning system
A method of warning a technician is provided. The method comprising: detecting a wireless signal emitted by at least one of a sensor and a user device; determining a distance between the sensor and the user device in response to the wireless signal; determining whether the user device is within a work area in response to the distance between the sensor and the user device; and conveying safety instructions through an application installed on the user device when the user device is determined to be within the work area.
Fail safe bar for clutch type brake adjustment
Disclosed is an elevator machine including: a plurality of stationary structures, including a proximate stationary structure and a distal stationary structure, a brake support that comprises the proximate stationary structure, a brake disc rotably supported in the brake support intermediate the plurality of stationary structures, the plurality of stationary structures and the brake disc each including a respective one of a plurality of orifices, and the plurality of orifices being mutually aligned and offset from a rotational axis of the brake disc to removably receive an elongated bar, wherein when the bar is positioned in the plurality of orifices, the brake disc is prevented from rotating, thereby preventing vertical movement of an elevator car in an elevator hoistway.
DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE WORK IN AN ELEVATOR SHAFT
An elevator system includes an elevator shaft, an elevator car and a counterweight being coupled and being arranged in the elevator shaft for movement in opposite directions, and a buffer device arranged in a shaft pit of the elevator shaft. The buffer device limits the travel path of the counterweight and includes a buffer and a lifting device, wherein in an idle position of the lifting device an overtravel of the elevator car in a shaft head of the elevator shaft is enabled. The lifting device can be activated to an active position to limit the travel path of the counterweight and, between a shaft ceiling of the elevator shaft and the elevator car, a minimum distance for maintenance by personnel can be ensured. The lifting device is arranged between the buffer and the counterweight.
