ABSORBING LIQUID, METHOD FOR PREPARING ABSORBING LIQUID, AND DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REMOVING CO2 OR H2S OR BOTH

An absorbing liquid which absorbs the CO.sub.2 or H.sub.2S or both contained in a gas, and which comprises 1) at least one tertiary-monoamine main agent selected from a tertiary-monoamine group and 2) at least one secondary-diamine first additive selected from a secondary-diamine group, the secondary-diamine concentration being within the range of 0.05 to 0.5 in terms of the additive concentration index represented by the following expression (I).

Scale deposition inhibiting scavenger compositions and their use

A method of treating a fluid to reduce the level of H.sub.2S therein while inhibiting the deposition of scale on surfaces in contact with the fluid, comprising introducing into the fluid a triazine scavenger compound and a terpolymer. The fluid may be liquid or gas and may be petroleum, petroleum product, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or other type of oil fraction or refined oil. The triazine scavenger may be e.g. 1,3,5-tri(2-hydroxyethyl)-hexahydro-1, 3, 5-triazine. The terpolymer may comprise a carboxylate/sulphonate/non-ionic terpolymer. When added to a wellbore fluid, it is effective as a scavenger of H.sub.2S and also reduces the amount of scale deposition on a surface in contact with the fluid when the fluid comes into contact with or is mixed with a brine. In some aspects, the composition increases the proportion of precipitated solids held in suspension when the fluid is contacted with or mixed with a brine.

The processes provide (1) contacting air with a filter comprising by volume from about 5% to about 95% impregnated zirconium hydroxide, from about 5% to about 95% activated impregnated carbon, and optionally, up to about 50% ammonia removal material; and (2) supplying the contacted air to a confined area.

Method for selective absorption of hydrogen sulfide from a gaseous effluent by a 1,2-bis(2-dimethylaminoethoxy)ethane-based absorbent solution comprising a viscosifying agent

The invention relates to a method of selectively removing hydrogen sulfide H.sub.2S from a gaseous effluent comprising at least H.sub.2S and CO.sub.2, wherein a stage of selective absorption of hydrogen sulfide over CO.sub.2 is carried out by contacting said effluent with a solution comprising (a) water and (b) at least the following diamine: 1,2-bis(2-dimethylaminoethoxy)ethane ##STR00001##
