20170341963 · 2017-11-30 ·

Methods and systems for bioremediation of heavy metal contaminants in waste materials (e.g., sludge and combustion wastes from a coal-fixed power plant). The systems described in the present application include at least one waste treatment unit (e.g., a flue gas cleaner or a waste lagoon) that includes one or more selected bacterial strains disposed therein consume and/or reclaim at least a portion of the heavy metal in the combustion wastes. Methods include inoculating a waste treatment unit with one or more selected bacteria that consume and/or reclaim at least a portion of the heavy metal in the combustion wastes. Methods may include periodic reinoculation of the waste treatment unit with fresh bacteria and period recovery of the bacteria from the waste treatment unit.

INTEGRATED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING ACID GAS FROM A GAS STREAM

Acid gas compounds are removed from a process gas such as, for example, syngas or natural gas, by flowing a feed gas into a desulfurization unit to remove a substantial fraction of sulfur compounds from the feed gas and flowing the resulting desulfurized gas into a CO.sub.2 removal unit to remove a substantial fraction of CO.sub.2 from the desulfurized gas.

Product gas filter

A product gas filter with a filter housing, into which product gas of a wood gas reactor is supplied, by means of a product gas line, and is discharged as clean gas through a clean gas line. Long-chain hydrocarbons in the product gas stream can be at least substantially reduced, and a high filter performance achieved, where the filter is divided gas-tight into two parts by a separating tray in such a way that the product gas line is delivered to the lower region and the clean gas line exits from the upper collecting space; at least two filter cartridges, each coupled individually to a compressed air line and compressed air source, project into the lower region; and a zeolite container is connected to the lower portion of the filter via a compressed air source connectable, Venturi nozzle and a lockable line.

REGENERATIVE ADSORBENTS OF MODIFIED AMINES ON NANO-STRUCTURED SUPPORTS

The invention relates to regenerative, solid sorbent for adsorbing carbon dioxide from a gas mixture, with the sorbent including a modified polyamine and a nano-structured solid support. The modified polyamine is the reaction product of an amine and an aldehyde. The sorbent provides structural integrity, as well as high selectivity and increased capacity for efficiently capturing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, including the air. The sorbent is regenerative, and can be used through multiple operations of absorption-desorption cycles.
