APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR STORING AND MIXING SEPARATE SUBSTANCES
A storage and mixing device includes a mixing compartment, two pistons that each extend from the mixing compartment and end in a displacement section, each piston defining a passageway having a first opening communicating with the mixing compartment and a second opening communicating with an inlet at the displacement section, and a housing having two piston guides and a cartridge compartment connected to the piston guide, each piston guide slidably receiving one of the pistons, and each cartridge compartment receiving a removable cartridge that includes a cavity for containing separate substances and an opening sealed by a cartridge seal. The displacement section of each piston includes a piercing member for piercing the cartridge seal of the cartridge arranged in the corresponding cartridge compartment, such that the displacement section enters the cartridge cavity and displaces the contained substance into the mixing compartment via the inlet and the passageway.
Device for providing bone cement
One aspect relates to a device for providing a bone cement from two starting components, having a hollow cylinder-shaped first container, in which a monomer liquid as first starting component can be stored, a hollow cylinder-shaped second container comprising a container wall, a first internal space, and a second internal space, whereby a bone cement powder as second starting component can be stored in the first internal space, and whereby the monomer liquid can be conveyed into the second internal space, a fluid-conducting conveying means arranged between the first internal space and the second internal space, whereby the first container and the second container are axially connected to each other.
STORAGE AND MIXING SYSTEM WITH COMPRESSIBLE INTERNAL CARTRIDGE FOR PASTY STARTING COMPONENTS
Storage and mixing systems and methods for pasty multicomponent polymethylmethacrylate bone cements, the systems and methods comprise a first tubular cartridge with a first cylindrical internal space containing a first starting component, a first dispensing plunger, a second tubular cartridge that is arranged within the first tubular cartridge. The external wall of the second cartridge touches against the internal wall of the first cartridge and is attached to the internal wall of the first cartridge, whereby the second cartridge contains a second starting component and has a second dispensing plunger arranged in it, whereby a pressing device with a clamping edge for compressing the second cartridge that can be propelled axially in the internal space of the first cartridge is arranged, as seen from the cartridge head, behind the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger. The pressing device can be propelled appropriately in the direction of the cartridge head such that the second cartridge is being progressively compressed axially during the motion of the pressing device such that, in the process, the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger are propelled in the direction of the cartridge head.
Dispensing apparatus for a multi-component mass
A dispensing apparatus simultaneous discharges at least two flowable components of a multi-component mass from different storage volumes. The dispensing apparatus includes a passive mixing unit having a central mixing passage extending along a flow direction and being configured to guide the components mixed with one another, and including at least two inlets opening into the central mixing passage, the inlets being associated with the same storage volume and open into the mixing passage at different positions along the flow direction.
Integrated medicine mixing interface
An integrated medicine mixing interface comprising a medicine mixing mouth (1), hard double interfaces (2) and a medicine feed needle (3). The hard double interfaces (2) comprise a base (21), a medicine mixing interface (22) and an infusion interface (23). The medicine mixing mouth (1) and the medicine mixing interface (22) are integrated. When using the integrated medicine mixing interface, it is only necessary to weld the base (21) to the bag body of a soft infusion bag (11) and integrate the medicine mixing mouth (1) with the medicine mixing interface on the hard double interfaces (2) without adopting a hose connection and an easily folding handle, which not only reduces hose installation location, but also avoids welding leakage brought about by hose welding defects. Moreover, the structure is simple and the costs are low.
MIXING DEVICE, IN PARTICULAR DESIGNED FOR MIXING BONE CEMENT
A mixing device, in particular for bone cement, in which at least two ampoules provided with a septum are pushed onto needles, in parallel to each other, for discharging the liquid.
Device for mixing a bone cement with hollow space for monomer transfer
One aspect relates to a device for the production of a bone cement dough from a monomer liquid and a cement powder comprising a cartridge with an internal space; a cartridge head with a dispensing opening; a conveying plunger that is supported in the internal space of the cartridge such that it is pushable in the direction of the dispensing opening; a dispensing plunger between the dispensing opening and the conveying plunger that is supported in the internal space of the cartridge such that it is pushable in the direction of the dispensing opening; a first hollow space, in which the cement powder is arranged; a second hollow space that is bordered by the dispensing plunger and the conveying plunger; a rear-side part of the internal space of the cartridge; and a conducting means that connects the second hollow space to the rear-side part of the internal space of the cartridge such as to bypass the conveying plunger and be permeable to the monomer liquid. The conducting means can be closed by the conveying plunger with respect to the second hollow space by shifting the conveying plunger in the direction of the dispensing plunger, and a feedthrough in the dispensing plunger that connects the first hollow space and the second hollow space such as to be permeable to the monomer liquid.
Apparatus for creation of injectable slurry
Disclosed herein is a system for creating an injectable and flowable cold slurry, the system comprising a housing; a mount operatively connected to the housing configured to accept a container; a first motor configured to move the mount from a first position to a second position; a second motor; and a drive shaft in communication with the second motor, wherein the drive shaft is configured to rotate to cause an internal volume of the container to be transformed into the injectable and flowable cold slurry.
Telescoping plunger assembly
A bone filler mixing and delivery device includes a mixing section adapted to mix components to form bone filler. A syringe barrel is coupled to the mixing section and has an opening through which the bone filler can be dispensed. A controllable portal can be manipulated to open a flow path between the mixing section and the syringe barrel. A plunger assembly is adapted to extend telescopically in an axial direction through the syringe barrel to dispense the bone filler through the opening.
Method and device of making a suspension of microparticles homogeneously distributed in an aqueous liquid carrier
A method of mixing a liquid composition that includes microparticles dispersed in an aqueous liquid carrier may involve a first premixing step and a second premixing step. During the first premixing step a receptacle is oscillated about a longitudinal axis clockwise and counter-clockwise from a first reference point through a first angle of rotation for a first period of time and at a first angular velocity. During the second premixing step the receptacle is oscillated about the longitudinal axis clockwise and counter-clockwise from a second reference point through a second angle of rotation for a second period of time and at a second angular velocity. In examples, the first angle of rotation is smaller than said second angle of rotation, and the first period of time is shorter than the second period of time.
