Fuel vapor processing system
11215130 · 2022-01-04 · ·

The present disclosure provides a fuel vapor processing system. The system includes a tank passage, a canister, a purge passage, an air passage, a purge valve, a controller, a fuel vapor processing portion, a pressure sensor, a fuel refill detecting portion, and an abnormality detecting portion. The fuel refill detecting portion detects that fuel refill to the fuel tank is started or fuel refill to the fuel tank is being performed by executing a fuel refill detecting process. An abnormality detecting portion detects, by executing an abnormality detecting process, a clogged situation where the tank passage is clogged based on a signal from the pressure sensor received after the fuel refill detecting portion detected that the fuel refill to the fuel tank was started.

A method for controlling a filling process of a motor vehicle tank comprising the following steps: determine a geographical location of the motor vehicle tank; determining, by means of a tank control device, whether the geographical location of the motor vehicle tank is within a predetermined geographical area; and determining a shut-off filling volume dependent on the geographical location of the motor vehicle tank, if the geographical location of the motor vehicle tank is within the predetermined geographical area.

System for controlling shut-off of a fuel pump nozzle in filling a fuel tank

A system for controlling shut-off of a fuel pump nozzle in a fuel tank includes: a fuel evaporation gas blocking unit configured to separate an outer space of a fuel injection part of the fuel pump nozzle inserted inside the filler pipe into a first space into which external air is introduced and a second space into which fuel evaporation gas that is discharged from the fuel tank is introduced and to block the evaporation gas from being introduced into the first space; an external air suction jet pump mounted in the fuel tank and configured to suck external air thereinto and discharge the external air into the fuel tank, by receiving a portion of fuel transmitted from the fuel pump in the fuel tank as a working fluid; and a jet pump connection hose configured to connect the first space and the external air suction jet pump.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR FUEL SYSTEM

Methods and systems are provided for an evaporative emission fuel (EVAP) system. In one example, a method for the EVAP system includes loading canisters in parallel sequentially during a refueling event. The method further includes switching loading from one canister to another in response to a fuel level during the refueling event.

Adaptive refueling for evaporative emission control

Methods and systems are provided for an evaporative emission control system. In one example, a method may include halting a dispensing of fuel to a fuel tank during a refueling event by increasing a backpressure in the fuel tank. The halt to fuel dispensing may be executed based on one or more of an upcoming fuel vapor canister purge event and an estimated fuel vapor canister loading capacity to determine a predicted canister breakthrough. The predicted canister breakthrough may be compared to a threshold to regulate a refueling volume.

System and method for controlling flow in a fuel recirculation line

A vehicle and a fuel system for a vehicle are provided. The fuel system has a fuel tank, a fuel fill inlet fluidly connected to the fuel tank to receive fuel dispensed from an external fuel supply device, and a recirculation line with a first end fluidly connected to the fuel fill inlet and a second end fluidly connected to the fuel tank. An ejector is positioned within the recirculation line. A valve fluidly connects the ejector to the fuel tank via a drain line. A method of fueling a vehicle is also provided.

Ventilation flow rate regulator for a pressurized vehicle tank

The invention relates to a ventilation flow rate regulator (1) for a pressurized vehicle tank (4), which comprises a plunger (10) adapted to be mounted in a ventilation line (7). The plunger (10) has at least one peripheral orifice (111) and at least one non-central internal orifice (112) which is closer to an axis of symmetry (A) of the plunger (10 than the peripheral orifice (111). The non-central internal orifice (112) has a section perpendicular to the axis of symmetry (A) which is smaller than any section of the peripheral orifice (111) perpendicular to the axis of symmetry (A).

Refueling control system for internal combustion engine

A refueling control system for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel tank; a vapor pipe; a step motor-driven shut-off valve; a fuel filler lid; and an electronic control unit configured to, when the fuel filler lid is to be opened, i) drive the shut-off valve such that the shut-off valve is opened, ii) close the fuel filler lid when an opening degree of the shut-off valve is less than a set opening degree, and iii) open the fuel filler lid when the opening degree of the shut-off valve is greater than or equal to the set opening degree. The electronic control unit sets the set opening degree such that the set opening degree when an opening speed of the shut-off valve is low is greater than the set opening degree when the opening speed of the shut-off valve is high.
