Vehicle fuel tank for improved crashworthiness
10343833 · 2019-07-09 ·

A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell, an inner shell and a crush sleeve. The protective outer shell defines an outer tank. The inner shell defines an inner tank which holds fuel. The inner shell is housed in the outer shell and is isolated from the outer shell by a space. The crush sleeve is provided in the space between the outer shell and the inner shell. The crush sleeve supports the inner shell and maintains the inner shell in position relative to the outer shell. Wherein during an impact to the vehicle, the force of the impact causes the outer shell and the crush sleeve to deform and the inner shell to move relative to the outer shell.

TANK MOUNTING STRUCTURE AND VEHICLE

A tank mounting structure includes a frame, a band, and a tank protector. The frame is configured to fix the tank. The band is configured to fix the tank in a state where the band sandwiches the tank with the frame and the band deforms in accordance with expansion or contraction of the tank. The tank protector is configured to be fixed to an inner side of the band or an outer side of the band.

Vehicle with improved suppression of high voltage under collision load

A vehicle includes an electrical device in which a high-voltage part is disposed within a case, and a fuel tank. The high-voltage part is disposed near a first side end of the case in a vehicle width direction. The fuel tank has a first end portion in the vehicle width direction and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion. When a collision load equal to or greater than a predetermined value is applied to the fuel tank from the outside in a vehicle front-rear direction, the fuel tank is configured to be horizontally rotated about the first end portion of the fuel tank, and the second end portion of the fuel tank is configured to contact the second side end of the electrical device.

Vehicle

A vehicle includes: a vehicle body; a gas tank having a tank main body that includes a cylindrical barrel part and a cap that is provided at one end of the tank main body in a longitudinal direction; a bracket fixing the cap to the vehicle body; and a band surrounding an outer circumferential surface of the barrel part and fixing the barrel part to the vehicle body, wherein the gas tank is arranged such that the longitudinal direction extends along a front-rear direction of the vehicle, the bracket includes an engaging part that restrict movement of the gas tank in the longitudinal direction by engaging with an engaged part provided in the cap, and movement of the gas tank in the longitudinal direction is restricted by the engaging part only at the one end, and not at the other end, of the gas tank in the longitudinal direction.

Device for fastening a tank to a vehicle

A device for fastening a tank to a vehicle is provided. The tank is substantially in the form of a cylinder with an axis arranged substantially horizontally. The device comprises at least two substantially identical, substantially flat frames, substantially perpendicular to the axis, comprising an opening presenting a shape substantially identical to a section perpendicular to the axis of the tank so as to be able to enclose, at least partially, the tank. The device further includes a fastening interface to the vehicle and an impact energy dissipation feature that dissipates impact energy transmitted to the tank according to a substantially horizontal direction substantially perpendicular to the axis. The impact energy dissipation features is arranged between the opening and the fastening interface.

A vehicle comprises a tank that is placed behind a front component in a front-rear direction of the vehicle and that is arranged such that a longitudinal direction of the tank is along the front-rear direction; and a fixation member configured to fix the tank to a vehicle body of the vehicle. The front component and the tank are arranged to at least partly overlap with each other when the vehicle is viewed from a forward direction side. The fixation member releases fixation of the tank to the vehicle body when the front component comes into contact with the tank to apply an external force along the longitudinal direction that is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, to the tank.

A fuel cell vehicle includes fuel tanks, a first support mechanism, and a restricting member. The fuel tanks are disposed in a vehicle width direction to have longitudinal directions along a vehicle longitudinal direction. The fuel tanks include first and second fuel tanks. The first fuel tank is provided on an outer side in the vehicle width direction. The second fuel tank is adjacent to the first fuel tank. The second fuel tank has an axial center positioned higher than an axial center of the first fuel tank. In a case where a collision load acts from outside in the vehicle width direction, the first support mechanism supports the first fuel tank while allowing the first fuel tank to move toward a lower side of the second fuel tank. The restricting member is provided above the second fuel tank and restricts an upward movement range of the second fuel tank.
