The cover integrally has a sheath holding portion that crimps and holds an uncovered portion of the sheath that is not covered by the rubber stopper, and a rubber stopper holding portion that crimps and holds the rubber stopper.

A wire harness includes a connector and a grommet. The connector includes an inner member having an annular plate-shaped flange. The inner member includes a first divided inner part, a second divided inner part, a deformable hinge that connects one end of the first divided inner part and one end of the second divided inner part to each other, and a lock portion that is formed on a fitting portion between the other end of the first divided inner part and the other end of the second divided inner part. The lock portion is formed on a portion where the other end of the first divided inner part and the other end of the second divided inner part are fitted to each other by sliding movement in accordance with a twisting of the hinge about a first axis.

PROTECTION SHIELD POSITIONING ASSEMBLY AND POSITIONING DEVICE THEREFORE AND METHOD OF USE

A method and assembly for protecting a device connected to a wiring harness is disclosed. The assembly includes a protective tubular shield and a positioning device, with the protective tubular shield having a bore for receiving the device at least partially therein. An elongated wiring harness extends from the device being protected and through the bore of the protective tubular shield. The positioning device is formed having a band and at least one flexible, resilient finger extending radially inwardly from the band. At least one of the fingers forcibly engages the wiring harness to releasably maintain the positioning device and the protective tubular shield in a protection position along the wiring harness at least partially surrounding the device being protected.

An in-vehicle electric component-internal circuit unit has a novel structure that can reduce the number of in-vehicle electric component-side work processes and reduce in-vehicle electric component size. An in-vehicle electric component-internal circuit unit includes: an insulative holder that holds circuit members; a wire harness that includes a coated wire, a circuit-side connection portion that is provided on an end portion on one side of the coated wire, a connector that is provided on an end portion on the other side of the coated wire, and a grommet through which the coated wire passes; a plate wall portion for covering a housing through-hole provided in a housing of an in-vehicle electric component; and a seal member that is provided on a first surface, which is a surface of the plate wall portion to be attached to the housing and that comes into contact with the rim of the housing through-hole.

A grommet according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: an annular mounting portion that is to be fixed to a surrounding portion of an insertion hole of a vehicle body panel; and a tubular stress-absorbing portion that includes a tubular side wall that extends from an inner circumferential rim portion of the mounting portion toward one side in an axial direction, and a bottom wall that partially closes off the tubular side wall at a front end of the tubular side wall. Furthermore, the grommet includes tubular insertion portions that are provided integrally with the bottom wall, and that cover the outer circumferences of wire harnesses inserted into the insertion hole. The mounting portion includes an annular seal portion that comes into close contact with the surrounding portion of the insertion hole of the vehicle body panel. The side wall is flexible.

The elastomeric region defines a plurality of ribs angled such that the ribs are configured to provide an insertion force when the elastomeric region is inserted within the aperture and provide a removal force greater than the insertion force when the elastomeric region is withdrawn from the aperture. The cable harness grommet seals a honeycomb panel cut-out and seals the cable harness itself as the cable harness passes through the cut-out by way of an aperture in the cable harness grommet. The honeycomb panel cut-out is enclosed by the cable harness grommet such that the cable harness grommet closes and seals the honeycomb panel cut-out and the aperture around the cable harness itself, both in compliance with applicable airworthiness requirements.
