Vehicle control system
11472374 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A vehicle includes a wiper switch that manually operates a wiping mode of a windshield wiper. The vehicle control system includes a first controller configured to execute an automated driving of the vehicle, and a second controller configured to control the wiping mode of the windshield wiper based on a request from the first controller or operation information of the wiper switch. The first controller transmits an auto-wiper request to the second controller during execution of the automated driving. Here, the auto-wiper request is a request for executing an auto-wiper process for automatically switching the wiping mode of the windshield wiper according to an external environment. The second controller executes the auto-wiper process when the auto-wiper request is received from the first controller in a state where the wiper switch is operated to the wiper-off position.

A process (1) for de-icing a glazed surface (20) of a vehicle (2) is disclosed. A de-icing device (21) includes a wiper system (210) with at least one device for spraying a liquid (L, Lq), and is used to perform a method involving verification (E1) of a primary condition (C1) according to which the ignition (Cc) of the said vehicle (2) is activated, verification (E2) of a secondary condition (C2) according to which the exterior temperature (t) is below a temperature threshold (Th1), verification (E3) of a tertiary condition (C3) according to which a demisting function (fd) is activated; and when all of the conditions are fulfilled, then activation (E4) of the de-icing device (21) in order to start a de-icing cycle (Cy). The de-icing cycle (Cy) comprising spraying by the device for spraying of the liquid (L, Lq) onto the glazed surface (20).

ATMOSPHERIC PROPERTY ESTIMATION SYSTEM AND METHOD IN DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENTS USING LIDAR

Systems and methods are provided for estimating atmospheric properties using a LIDAR sensor. A control system includes a LIDAR sensor configured to detect a distance to an object, and an intensity of light reflected by the object. A controller's a target selection module determines whether the object is a target for use in estimating the atmospheric properties. A data collection module collects values of the distance and the intensity as detected by the LIDAR sensor. The atmospheric properties are determined based on the values of the distance and the intensity. In response to the determined atmospheric properties, the actuator is operated to effect an action.

Track-guided wiper system and method

A wiper system for use with a windshield includes a track guide, a wiper assembly, a drive mechanism and a wipe mechanism. The wiper assembly has a wiper arm attached at a first end thereof to a rotor rotatably disposed on a wiper carrier, wherein the wiper carrier is engaged with the track guide and is configured for translation therealong. The drive mechanism is connected with the wiper carrier and is configured for positioning the wiper carrier along the track guide. The wipe mechanism is connected with at least one of the rotor and the wiper carrier and is configured to cause the rotor to rotate, thereby causing the wiper arm to produce a wiping motion.
