Described herein are a packaged food product and methods of making and using the packaged food product. In some embodiments, the packaged food product comprises a spouted sachet or packet containing one or more flowable food products, such as ketchup or other condiments.

Detachable fitment

A fitment for a sachet includes a body having a slot that extends from a lower surface of the body toward an upper surface of the body. The upper surface caps the slot in a first portion of the body such that fluid flow is prevented through the first portion of the body in a direction from the lower surface toward the upper surface. The slot connects to an opening in the upper surface in a second portion of the body. A flow path exists through the slot and the opening in the second portion of the body in the direction from the lower surface toward the upper surface.

An ejection port is provided at a leading end of the ejecting portion, and the concentrated stock solution is ejected from the ejection port as the containing portion deforms based on an external force.

The mixing structure also receives the optionally chilled liquid from vessel for holding a volume of liquid, and ensures that the concentrate mixes with the liquid without contacting the walls of the mixing structure.

A liquid ant bait pack having a primary bait well and a plurality of feeding reservoirs for holding liquid bait is provided in which the walls of the feeding reservoirs as well as the primary bait well are sloped to facilitate ant access to the liquid bait held therein while reducing the risk of the ants falling into the bait and drowning. Ant access is further facilitated by dry platform areas positioned between the reservoirs. The inclusion of multiple feeding reservoirs, the bait well and the dry platform areas provides an increased area over which ants can simultaneously access the bait. The entrance to the bait pack is sealed during manufacture and then readily opened by the consumer using a tear-off tab that can removed without the need for any tools.

Process for producing flexible container with microcapillary dispensing system

The present disclosure provides a process. In an embodiment, a process for producing a flexible pouch is provided and includes placing a microcapillary strip between two opposing flexible films. The opposing flexible films define a common peripheral edge. The process includes positioning a first side of the microcapillary strip at a first side of the common peripheral edge and positioning a second side of the microcapillary strip at a second side of the common peripheral edge. The process includes first sealing, at a first seal condition, the microcapillary strip between the two flexible films; and second sealing, at a second seal condition, a peripheral seal along at least a portion of the common peripheral edge. The peripheral seal includes a sealed microcapillary segment.

Process for in situ production of microcapillary dispensing system for flexible pouch

In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a process for producing a flexible pouch is provided. The process includes placing a capillary precursor element (CPE) between two opposing flexible films. The flexible films define a common peripheral edge. The CPE comprises an array of pins sandwiched between two opposing polymeric strips. The process includes positioning a first side of the CPE at a first side of the common peripheral edge and positioning a second side of the CPE at a second side of the common peripheral edge. The process includes first sealing, at a first seal condition, (i) the opposing polymeric strips to each other to form a matrix, and (ii) sealing the matrix to the two opposing flexible films. The process includes removing the array of pins from the matrix to form an in situ microcapillary strip.
