Beverage capsule for preparing a beverage in a beverage preparation device from a capsule containing beverage ingredients by passing water through the ingredients contained in the capsule using centrifugal forces, said device comprising means for driving the capsule in rotation around an axis of rotation (I), a capsule holder for receiving the capsule and a water injection means for injecting water in the capsule, said device further comprising a valve means for engaging a valve engaging portion of the capsule; said valve means comprising a pressing ring; the capsule comprising a body and a lid and a valve engaging portion designed for being inserted between the capsule holder and the valve means of the device; wherein said capsule comprises an outlet structure forming beverage flow restriction passages of defined cross-section in the capsule at such and/or as a result of the insertion of the valve engaging portion between the capsule holder and the pressing ring of the valve means.

The invention relates to a single-portion package (1) for producing a beverage from a beverage concentrate, comprising a closable concentrate container (2) for holding the beverage concentrate. According to the invention, the single-portion package (1) has an extraction and mixing device (3), comprising: an extraction means (4a, 4b) for extracting the beverage concentrate from the concentrate container (2), a mixing chamber (5) for preparing the beverage from the beverage concentrate extracted from the concentrate container (2) and from a mixing liquid that can be supplied, an inlet (6) for letting the mixing liquid into the mixing chamber (5), and an outlet (7) for letting the beverage out of the mixing chamber (5).

Capsule with controlled opening for the preparation of beverages
A capsule for the preparation of infusion or instant beverages includes pushing means for lifting a disc, arranged at a bottom of a cup defining an internal volume for containing a food substance to be infused. A central portion is collapsible towards the inside of the cup under a pressure force exerted from outside. The disc is fixed to an external edge with a peelable weld. Collapse of an intermediate portion pushes the disc, which, by lifting itself, detaches from the external edge, forming an outlet passage for the beverage.

The present disclosure is directed methods for making and to features that may be included in a single-use beverage dispensing container. Such containers are commonly referred to as beverage pods. Such beverage pods are commonly used in offices and in residences where individuals wish to make a single cup of coffee, tea, chocolate, or other beverage. Features that may be included in beverage pods of the present disclosure include an agitation device that redirects a flow of a fluid injected into the beverage pod when a beverage is made. This redirected fluid flow may increase an amount of turbulence within a beverage pod such that soluble materials like a chocolate powder are more effectively dissolved into the fluid, or this turbulence may increase the efficiency of extracting materials from non-soluble beverage making materials such as coffee or tea.

A system for selecting and packaging a customized variety pack including an assortment of products including one or more servers configured to receive a custom order from a consumer for single serve coffee pods. The custom order comprises details specifying a total number of single serve coffee pods to include in the variety pack and a number of each of a plurality of different varieties of single serve coffee pods to include in the variety pack. The system further includes a labeling device configured to receive custom order information from the one or more servers, print a label with the custom order information, and attach the label to a box. The system further includes a packing machine configured to scan the label on the box, retrieve from the one or more servers the details for the variety pack, and deposit individual coffee pods into the box according to the details.
