Flexible tank with cape

A flexible tank is used to transport bulk liquids or semi-liquid materials inside of a multi-modal shipping container. It has water proof inner layers and an outer layer, which are formed and welded together to have seams at both ends of the flexible tank. A discharge valve is provided at one end of the flexible tank and an additional piece of material, referred to as a cape, is attached at the other end of the flexible tank. The flexitable tank is situated in the container so that the end with the discharge valve is at the container opening and the end with the attached cape is at the rear of the container. The cape can be used by equipment positionable at the opening of the container to completely discharge the bulk liquids or semi-liquid materials from the flexible tank by pulling and winding up the cape and the layers of the flexible tank from the rear of the container.

Safe transport of bulk materials is assured by a lashing system that suspends a flexible end face panel adjacent to rear doors of a shipping container, and that restrains the end face panel during loading and subsequent transport, so that the adjacent container door may be opened and closed without difficulty. The lashing may for instance be done by threading a strap through a ring in a central part of the panel and several cargo rings in the corners of a door opening of the container, and after tightening the strap, the strap is secured by passing a clasp through two holes in the strap that are aligned when under the desired tension. A triangular shaped strap may be sewn into the panel with a ring at the apex as an embodiment.

Tank assembly with liner

A tank assembly for receiving liquids comprises a tank body. The tank body includes a tank wall defining an enclosed tank cavity. The tank body also includes a manhole lid attached to the tank wall and movable from a closed position covering a manhole in the tank body to an open position uncovering the manhole. A liner includes a flexible liner wall defining an enclosed liner cavity. An opening is formed in the liner wall to permit liquid to be introduced into the liner cavity. The liner also includes a fitting secured to the liner wall at the opening in the liner wall. A first end of a hose is attached to the fitting for conducting fluid to the liner cavity. A valve is attached to a second end of the hose. The valve and the second end of the hose are releasably attached to the manhole lid.

An expandable holding tank includes a base supporting a first sidewall to define a liquid retaining enclosure. A second sidewall travels up and down one of an exterior face or an interior face of the first sidewall from a stored position to an operative position. In the stored position, the second sidewall is nested with the first sidewall to position a lower edge of the second sidewall adjacent to the base. In the operative position, the second sidewall is telescopically extended relative to the first sidewall to place the lower edge of the second sidewall at a distance from the base and an upper edge of the second sidewall extending above an upper edge of the first sidewall.

IMPROVED INLET-OUTLET SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SUBSEA STORAGE

A system for emptying a gravity separated crude oil including a flexible bag storing the crude oil arranged within a protection structure, the protection structure including a bottom dement forming the lower section of the protection structure, the flexible bag being connected to a flange that is connected to the protection structure, and includes at least one fluid conduit providing fluid communication between the flexible bag and outside the protection structure A first outlet pipe is arranged inside the flexible bag near the bottom dement and is connected to and in fluid communication with the at least one fluid conduit A perforated tube surrounding the outlet pipe provides an annulus fluid passage, water is supplied to the structure volume, and the crude oil is emptied through the at least one fluid conduit, through the perforations in the perforated tube, through the annulus fluid passage to the first outlet pipe.

Method and apparatus for realizing an aseptic connection between a valve unit and a tank container

Methods for realizing an aseptic connection between a valve unit and a tank container having an inliner are provided whereby, a disinfection unit which includes the valve unit is positioned around the spout of the tank container. The valve unit is then disinfected by exposing the valve unit to a disinfection fluid and/or to electromagnetic radiation while the valve of the valve unit is in an open position. After having closed the valve, an end portion of the valve unit is pressed against a closure element that blocks the spout of the inliner, to thereby establish fluid communication between the inner environment of the inliner and the interior of the valve unit. The disinfection unit is then removed and the valve unit is fastened to the tank container to ensure an aseptic connection between the valve unit and the tank container.
