SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ACCUMULATION CONVEYOR
Various embodiments described herein relate to controlling an accumulation conveyor that comprises at least a first zone that is upstream of a second zone and the second zone that is upstream of a third zone. A second control module associated with the second zone receives a third feedback signal, indicating that a third sensor is blocked, from a third control module associated with the third zone. The second control module sets a second drive assembly associated with the second zone to a disengaged state, and receives a first signal from a first control module associated with the first zone. The first signal indicates that one of a first article having an irregular boundary or a second article having a regular boundary exits from the first zone. The second control module controls the second drive assembly and a second brake assembly based on the indication by the first signal.
OPERATION OF AN ACTIVE CONTROL ROLLER TOP CONVEYING ASSEMBLY
A modular conveying assembly includes active roller control for reducing backline pressure without product to product contact when accumulating products. A support portion includes: a first portion that is supported on a travel portion; a second portion that is coupled to a holding portion; and a damper portion that is provided between the first portion and the second portion. The damper portion includes: a guide portion that guides movement of the first portion relative to the second portion along a specific guiding direction; a link mechanism that is coupled to each of the first portion and the second portion, and that moves in conjunction with movement of the first portion relative to the second portion; and an elastic body. The elastic body is coupled to the link mechanism so as to dampen operation of the link mechanism.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PARCEL SLUG ACCUMULATION AND REDISTRIBUTION
Embodiments include a parcel processing system and methods for operating the same. The parcel processing system includes a collector configured to receive a flow of parcels and a slug accumulation system configured to receive the flow of parcels and produce a normalized bulk flow of parcels. The parcel processing system also includes a bulk transport conveyor configured to receive the normalized bulk flow of parcels and a singulator configured to receive the normalized bulk flow of parcels from the bulk transport conveyor. The normalized bulk flow of parcels is a flow of parcels having an approximately constant parcel density traveling at a fixed speed.

An apparatus is described for implementing a physical distance between a group of contiguous packages (1) in continuous advancement on a conveyor belt (3) and a series of accumulated packages (2) on an accumulator belt (4) connected in series to the conveyor belt (3), the apparatus comprising: the conveyor belt (3) driven by a first motor (30); the accumulator belt (4) driven by a second motor (40); a controller (5) of the motion of the accumulator belt (4); first detection means (51) of the group of contiguous packages (1); second detection means (52) of the series of accumulated packages (2); and a robot (6) equipped with gripping means (61) to move the group of contiguous packages (1) on the conveyor belt (3).

A device for conveying products within an industrial line, comprising a conveyor transporting a stream of products along at least one line. The device comprises at least one main zone delimited by primary beacons and covering a segment of the stream; and above the conveyor, at least one member for detecting the primary beacons and for counting the number of products at least inside the main zone. Also a method for conveying products, in which a stream of products is transported along at least one line and, by means of primary beacons at least one main zone is delimited, covering a segment of the stream; the primary beacons are detected and the number of products in the main zone is counted.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ACCUMULATION CONVEYOR
Various embodiments described herein relate to controlling an accumulation conveyor that comprises at least a first zone that is upstream of a second zone and the second zone that is upstream of a third zone. A second control module associated with the second zone receives a third feedback signal, indicating that a third sensor is blocked, from a third control module associated with the third zone. The second control module sets a second drive assembly associated with the second zone to a disengaged state, and receives a first signal from a first control module associated with the first zone. The first signal indicates that one of a first article having an irregular boundary or a second article having a regular boundary exits from the first zone. The second control module controls the second drive assembly and a second brake assembly based on the indication by the first signal.

The buffering device serves to temporarily accept products from a product flow in the event of a downstream disruption obstructing the product flow and to deliver the accepted products after the disruption has been eliminated. As conveyor it uses an endless flat top chain, which passes through several loops formed by horizontal deflections in an upper and a lower level. The deflections are arranged in an alternately fixed and horizontally displaceable manner, such that the lengths of the loops are variable.
Transport device and transport method comprising such a transport device
A transport device includes a first transport-element that comprises rotatable transport-element sections and that defines a transport path for transporting materials between front and rear deflection-devices. The path has successive sections along a transport direction and extends between drive-arrangements spaced apart along the transport path. The drive-arrangements interactively connect to the transport-element at different locations along the transport path. Rotatable transport-element sections are repositioned relative to one another in such a way to change an overall length of the first transport-element. Targeted controlling of adjacent transport path sections at a differential speed by way of the first and second drive-arrangements creates an accumulation or a gap of transport material on a transport-path section.
