Splicing Method and Unit for Splicing Two Packaging Films for a Horizontal Packaging Machine

Splicing method and unit for a packaging machine, whereby a first film is spliced to a second film which is a spare film. The splicing is performed by means of an adhesive element with two opposing adhesive surfaces, one for each film, and a longitudinal adhering element. First an adhesive surface is adhered to the adhering element and said adhering element moves so that the other adhesive surface comes into contact with the second film and adheres to it. Then the adhering element is separated from said second film, the adhesive element being adhered to said second film, and the first film is caused to come into contact with said adhesive element already adhered to the second film.

Storage container

The provided containers (100, 200) and methods provide for gravitational alignment of a plurality of stacked articles (120), in which at least two edges (140, 142) of each article align along inner walls (108, 114, 208, 214) of a respective container. The aligning walls of the container are provided with low-friction surfaces to facilitate sliding and alignment of the articles. By aligning the stack of articles along two edges, the articles can be registered relative to not only each other but the container itself, thereby facilitating loading, unloading, and conversion of articles in the stack. Optionally, a compressible layer (147) opposing one or both of the aligning walls conforms and distributes stress along the non-aligning edges, thereby preserving registration of the articles relative to each other when the container is transported.

Web conveyance method and apparatus using same

A method for conveying a web using an engagement cover (10) comprising resilient looped pile (16) engagement surface. Also, web conveying roller (12) having an engagement cover thereon.

A coreless flexible film packaging system is disclosed. The system includes: (i) a containment cylinder including a cylindrical wall defining first and second cylinder end apertures and an interior film containment area; (ii) a film feed slot in the cylindrical wall extending longitudinally along the containment cylinder; and (iii) a supply of flexible film wound about itself to form a film roll having a central cylindrical cavity, said roll including a leading end and a terminal end and contained within the interior film containment area. A coreless containment package and a method for packaging a flexible film are also described.

Thermoforming packaging machine with film deflection

A thermoforming packaging machine that includes a film holder for receiving a lower film supply roll and one behind the other in a sequential arrangement along a production direction a pretreatment station for pretreating the lower film web, a forming station for forming troughs in the lower film web by thermoforming, an insertion line for filling the troughs with products and a sealing station for sealing the troughs with a top film. A transport device is configured to transport the lower film web along the production direction through the pretreatment station, further to the forming station, further to the insertion line and finally to the sealing station. A deflection unit arranged at least partially below the pretreatment station is configured to deflect the lower film web before reaching the pretreatment station. The pretreatment station may include a punching or slitting unit to punch or slit the lower film web.

An unwinder for a sheet material has a housing and has crosspieces arranged laterally in the housing. To ensure the functionality of the unwinder even in the case of relatively large winding cores or of relatively large rollers, the crosspiece is connected, in a releasable and non-releasable manner, to an accommodating element of which the surface-area portions, which correspond to the crosspiece, enclose the crosspiece and have accommodating surfaces for the product which is to be unwound.

Sheet winding structure

The present invention discloses a sheet winding structure to reduce indentation transfer occurring because of sheet thickness or adhesive colloidality of the innermost layer of the sheet. The sheet winding structure comprises: a winding core having an outer surface, wherein the outer surface of the winding core comprises a recess thereon; and a sheet winded over the outer surface of the winding core, wherein a beginning portion of the sheet is disposed in the recess.
