The composite material includes capsules embedded in the polymer matrix, the capsules storing monomer substance in fluid form. An elevator includes a rope of the aforementioned kind and a method for condition monitoring of a rope of an elevator.
METHOD AND A MONITORING ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to a method of monitoring an elevator roping, the roping comprising plurality of movable ropes, the method comprising emitting light in particular with one or more light sources on the ropes while they move past the one or more light sources; and capturing with a camera system images continuously or intermittently of a zone towards which the one or more light sources emit light; and analyzing with an analyzing system the images captured by the camera system. Said emitting comprises emitting on a flank of each of said ropes at least one light beam having a shape, and said analyzing comprises recognizing in the images patterns of light emitted on said ropes and analyzing one or more characteristics of the recognized patterns. The invention also relates to a monitoring arrangement implementing the method.
Elevator rail healthy monitoring method
A method of monitoring component health is provided. The method includes moving a health monitor over a scattering surface of the component, emitting light of various wavelengths toward the scattering surface from a light source of the health monitor, observing one or more responses of the scattering surface to the light of the various wavelengths at a detector of the health monitor and identifying a condition of the scattering surface from the observed one or more responses of the scattering surface to the light of the various wavelengths.
AUTOMATIC MARKING SYSTEM
An automatic marking system (8) is provided which comprises a rope inspecting device (10) including a camera (15) and an image processor (14) and a rope marking device (17) for providing a mark on the rope in response to the image processor (14) detecting a defect on the rope. The mark distinguishes the type or level of the defect. The rope may be a hoisting rope (3) of an elevator device. The defect may include at least one of reduced diameter, rust, wire brakeage and strand brakeage of the hoisting rope (3).
Travelling cable of an elevator, and an elevator
A travelling cable of an elevator, more particularly of a passenger transport elevator and/or freight transport elevator, includes a protective envelope, conductors for transmitting electrical energy and data between the elevator car and the elevator hoistway, and one or more load-bearing bearer parts of essentially the length of the travelling cable for fixing the travelling cable at its first end to the elevator car and at its second end to the elevator hoistway, and which bearer part includes glass-fiber reinforcements and/or aramid-fiber reinforcements and/or carbon-fiber reinforcements and/or polybenzoxazole-fiber reinforcements and/or polyethylene-fiber reinforcements and/or nylon-fiber reinforcements in a polymer matrix material. An elevator includes the travelling cable.
COMPENSATION CHAIN STABILIZE DEVICE AND METHOD, HOISTWAY AND ELEVATOR SYSTEM
The present invention provides a compensation chain stabilizing apparatus and method, and an elevator shaft and elevator system having the same. The compensation chain stabilizing apparatus for an elevator includes a magnetic field generating device, which is configured to generate a magnetic field to limit shaking of the compensation chain. The elevator shaft and elevator system according to embodiments of the present invention include the compensation chain stabilizing apparatus according to the embodiments of the present invention. The apparatuses and methods of the present invention can suppress shaking of the compensation chain as much as possible, and avoid other problems related to the shaking of the compensation chain.
REAL-TIME ROPE/CABLE/BELT SWAY MONITORING SYSTEM FOR ELEVATOR APPLICATION
Depth cameras may be placed within an elevator car hoistway to capture depth images of the elevator rope. 3D sensing software may be used to identify the rope within the depth images and assign tracking points to locations along the rope. Tracked images are saved over time and compared to prior tracked images to determine the movement of tracked points between images. Movement of tracked points may be used to determine the velocity, acceleration, frequency of wave motion, and other characteristics of the rope during a period of time. When measured characteristics exceed specified thresholds, the system may take one or more actions to mitigate the undesirable behavior or provide notification of the undesirable behavior.
Method and device for determining the replacement state of wear of a support means of an elevator
A method for determining the degree service life end of a support cable of an elevator, wherein the support cable is routed over a drive sheave and/or one or more return pulleys and connects a car to a counterweight, includes the steps of: the support cable is subdivided into a plurality of sections; and for each of the sections, a determination is made as to whether the section passes over the drive sheave and/or one or more of the return pulleys during a trip, and if this is the case, a usage level representing the degree of service life use is increased accordingly.
METHOD, ARRANGEMENT AND ELEVATOR
A method for monitoring a condition of a belt-shaped rope of an elevator, which rope is connected with one or more elevator units of an elevator, includes monitoring lateral positions of successive rope locations, which rope locations pass during use of the elevator via a monitoring zone located in proximity of a crowned rope wheel around which the belt-shaped rope is arranged to turn; gathering lateral position data of the belt-shaped rope, which lateral position data indicates lateral positions of several successive rope locations of the rope at the monitoring zone; analyzing the lateral position data; detecting characteristics in the lateral position data indicating damaged rope; and triggering one or more predefined actions if characteristics indicating damaged rope are detected. An arrangement and an elevator, which implement the method, are also disclosed.
