An elevator system includes an elevator car carrier moveable in a travel space to a plurality of floors. The elevator car carrier has a first elevator car and a second elevator car adjustably arranged thereon, as well as a drive unit. An adjustment device includes a first traction device and a second traction device, which traction devices are wound in the opposite sense onto drums of the drive unit. The distance between the first elevator car and the second elevator car can be adjusted by a rotation of the drums to adapt to varying floor distances.

In a double-deck elevator, a car apparatus includes: a main frame; an upper car and a lower car that are disposed inside the main frame so as to be able to move vertically; and a car suspending body that suspends the upper car and the lower car on the main frame so as to counterbalance each other. A stopper sheave is disposed on a lower portion of the main frame. A flexible stopper cord-like body is wound onto the stopper sheave. The stopper cord-like body is connected to the upper car on a first side of the stopper sheave and is connected to the lower car on a second side of the stopper sheave.

A car arrangement includes: a first car and a second car arranged one above the other in a car frame; wherein at least the first car is displaceable along the car frame in the direction of a vertical axis by a spindle drive; wherein the spindle drive includes a spindle and a drive unit; wherein the spindle drive is guided through a cutout in a support structure of the car frame, and the drive unit has a housing with a fastening flange fastening the housing to the support structure; and wherein the housing has first and second positions in relation to the cutout, the fastening flange exposing the cutout in the first position so the spindle drive can be guided through the cutout in the direction of the vertical axis, and the fastening flange projects beyond an outer edge of the cutout in the second position.

ELEVATOR SYSTEM

An elevator system includes a first elevator car, a second elevator car, a drive-machine, and a suspension apparatus that passes over a traction sheave of the drive-machine to cause the cars to travel one above the other in a travel space. The suspension apparatus is divided into a first set and a second set. A displacement mechanism fixed in the travel space interacts with the second set between the traction sheave and the second car to vary the distance between the cars. This distance can be adjusted independent of the traction sheave. The displacement mechanism can have a pulley arrangement with a displaceable pulley displaced by a displacement drive to vary a length of a section of the second set between the displacement mechanism and the second car.

An elevator installation has an elevator car carrier that can be displaced in a travel space, a first elevator car arranged on the carrier in an adjustable manner, and a second elevator car arranged on the carrier. A drive unit on the carrier drives a traction device to adjust the first elevator car relative to the carrier. The traction device forms a closed loop and is guided over a drive roller and at least one guide roller, which rollers are arranged on the carrier. The guide roller is displaceable on the carrier to set tensioning of the traction device.

ELEVATOR SYSTEM

A lift system may include at least two cars that can be moved in a lift shaft, at least two drives each of which is configured to drive one of the cars for movement within the lift shaft, and a frame device. The at least two cars may be positioned within the frame device that is movable in the lift shaft. The at least two cars can be moved relative to one another within the frame device by way of their respective drives.
