Disclosed herein are compositions for extracting lithium from a brine, methods for utilizing compositions for extracting lithium from a brine, and/or methods for preparing a composition for extracting lithium from a brine. For example, a composition may include lithium aluminum hydroxide crystals having a crystal structure of a plurality of hexagonal sheets. In some instances, each of the plurality of hexagonal sheets includes one or more vacant sites. Moreover, the composition may include a plurality of reinforcing ions bonded to an outside edge of one or more of the plurality of hexagonal sheets. In some instances, the plurality of reinforcing ions supports the crystal structure of the plurality of hexagonal sheets when the composition is washed with a stripping fluid and maintains a separation distance between one or more of the plurality of hexagonal sheets.

Thus this disclosure provides a chromatography media composed of a porous solid substrate (such as a membrane, metal, or metallic alloy) that is coated with HA. Also provided is a chromatography media comprising a HA-coated substrate and uses thereof. Methods of preparing the HA-coated substrate are also provided.
METHOD FOR PREPARING HYDROPHOBIC MELAMINE RESIN FOAM, AND ITS PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS
The invention relates to the field of functional materials technology, specifically to a preparation method, product, and application of hydrophobic melamine resin foam. The preparation method of hydrophobic melamine resin foam includes the following steps: Vacuum-impregnate the melamine resin foam with a solution of poly(dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride). Subsequently, immerse the cationic-coated melamine resin foam in a sodium polyacrylate solution. Next, immerse the anionic-coated melamine resin foam in a titanium dioxide mixed solution for cross-linking. After cross-linking, immerse the melamine resin foam in a solution of tridecafluoro-octyl triethoxysilane. After impregnation, dry the foam to obtain hydrophobic melamine resin foam. The preparation method of the invention is simple, cost-effective, and easy to scale up for industrial applications. The hydrophobic melamine resin foam prepared using this method can achieve a hydrophobic contact angle of up to 150 and exhibits excellent oil absorption performance.
