An assembly for producing sealed packaging units (14) from a sheet packaging material, comprises: an advancement device (21) for advancing the sheet packaging material along an advancement direction (F), a longitudinal sealing device for sealing opposite borders of the sheet packaging material along a longitudinal sealing band arranged parallelly to the advancement direction (F), thereby forming a continuous tube (15), a transverse sealing device (29) for sealing the continuous tube (15) transversely to the advancement direction (F), so as to define a sealed packaging unit (14). The transverse sealing device (29) comprises a sealing element (30) and an abutment element (31) that are intended to mutually cooperate during sealing while being located on opposite sides of the continuous tube (15). The sealing element (30) is so configured as to act on a side (27) of the continuous tube (15) on which the longitudinal sealing band is provided.
Fastening method and fastening apparatus
In a fastening method and fastening apparatus, workpieces are fastened using a fastener made of a thermoplastic polymer comprising carbon fibers. The method and apparatus involve induction heating of the carbon fibers to soften the thermoplastic polymer and then plastically deforming axial ends of the fastener using a die or dies to form first and second heads while a shaft body or a shaft part of the thermoplastic polymer comprising the carbon fibers is inserted through respective through holes formed in the workpieces.
A HIGH-FREQUENCY WELDING METHOD
High-frequency welding method for welding an accessory to a substrate by high-frequency welding machinery which includes a female mold, having a cavity formed by a profile having substantially the same shape and dimensions as the accessory, and a male mold, having a relief formed by a profile having substantially the same shape and dimensions as the accessory. The method includes: mounting the female mold on a movable upper plate of the machinery and the male mold on a fixed lower plate of the machinery, or vice versa, such that the profile of the cavity is aligned in a closure direction of the molds with the profile of the relief. The method further includes: positioning the accessory on the relief or in the cavity; positioning the substrate above the accessory; moving the upper plate towards the lower plate; supplying high-frequency welding energy to the upper plate and/or to the lower plate.
System and method for making tapered looped suture
An active anvil assembly for use in forming a looped suture is provided. The active anvil assembly includes an anvil member, a first sensor operably connected to the anvil member, and a control assembly. The first sensor is configured for measuring at least one of force, torque, and distance feedback. Also provided are systems and methods for forming a looped suture including an active anvil assembly.
THERMAL CAULKING JOINED BODY
A caulking pin (15) is inserted into a mounting hole (21) provided in a metal case body (3), and the end portion of the caulking pin (15) is thermally caulked with a welding tip (24) to form a mold forming portion (17). A surplus absorption recess (31) is formed by enlarging the opening end of the mounting hole (21), and surplus resin is absorbed. The surplus absorption recess (31) is positioned inside a region of the mold forming portion (17). Therefore, the amount of molten surplus resin that protrudes outward from the welding tip (24) in the thermal caulking process is reduced.
Cosmetic containers and methods of manufacture
Methods of manufacturing and fixtures for manufacturing containers, particularly for holding cosmetic products, using thin-walled tubes. One end of a container may be formed using an integral process, such as insert molding, while the other end of the container is formed using assembly steps, such as welding, to form a completed cosmetics container from a thin-walled tube.
Part for connection to at least one further part, method for connecting a part to at least one further part, and composite part
Parts (10) for connection to at least one further part (30, 30′). The part (10) has at least two weld sections (11, 11′) to be welded individually to at least one of the further parts (30, 30′) by vibration welding. Each weld section (11, 11′) has at least one weld surface (13, 13′), for connection to the corresponding further part (30, 30′), and is spatially separated from each other weld section (11, 11′) by at least one vibration decoupling zone (14, 14′,23, 26). The part (10) has a particular arrangement of the weld section (11, 11′) with respect to the center of gravity (S) or has a particular mass distribution with respect to the weld section (11, 11′). Methods for connecting a part to at least one further part (30, 30′) and a composite part (90) containing a part (10) and a further part (30, 30′) are also disclosed.
Pouch-Shaped Battery Sealing Apparatus Including Position Adjustment Unit and Pouch-Shaped Battery Sealing Method Using the Same
The present invention relates to a pouch-shaped battery sealing apparatus including a position adjustment unit capable of adjusting relative positions of an electrode lead and an insulative film before sealing during a process of applying heat and pressure to an outer periphery of a battery case made of a laminate sheet to seal the outer periphery of the battery case when a pouch-shaped battery is manufactured and a pouch-shaped battery sealing method using the same.
ULTRASONIC WELDING OF DISSIMILAR SHEET MATERIALS
A ultrasonic welding method of joining dissimilar-material workpieces, such as sheet materials, and the joined components formed thereby. The method includes applying ultrasonic energy to a thermoplastic piece to fill a hole of a dissimilar piece to form a weld point that is made up with polymer from the thermoplastic piece. In general, the geometry of the thermoplastic piece is not altered during the process. The dissimilar piece generally has a higher melting temperate and can be metal, thermoset polymers, or other thermoplastic material. The welded pieces can be arranged in a lap, laminate, or double lap configuration. In some embodiments, the hole of the dissimilar sheet material includes undercut features that improve the mechanical interlock between the dissimilar pieces. In some embodiments, the weld point has a mushroom cap to improve mechanical interlock.
Punch rivet and also a method and apparatuses for attachment of individual components to one another of which at least one component is formed by a workpiece of composite material
A hollow punch rivet is described having a flange and a rivet section. Furthermore, a method for the attachment of individual components to one another using a punch rivet is described, with at least one of the components being formed by a material of the composite material. The method includes the following steps: a) arrangement of the die button against one of the two components to be secured to one another, which are placed on one another, wherein the die button has a bore which is dimensioned to receive the rivet section, b) carrying out a relative movement of the punch rivet with the free end of the rivet section to the fore towards the components arranged on one another and in the direction of the die button, c) piercing of the components with the free end of the rivet section and introduction of the rivet section into the bore of the die button until the component contact surface comes into contact and the component adjacent to the flange, d) using a plunger in order to dilate the punch rivet at least locally and e) forming a rivet bead by reshaping the free end region of the rivet section.
