Passenger restraint apparatus
[Problem] To provide a passenger restraint apparatus capable of suppressing the movement of an airbag away from a passenger without requiring a complex structure. [Resolution Means] A passenger restraint apparatus according to the present invention is configured to include a seat of a vehicle and restrain a passenger seated in this seat, wherein this passenger restraint apparatus includes: an airbag which is stored in a seat back part of the seat, and expanded and deployed to the side of the passenger seated in this seat; and a tension fabric which passes through the side opposite the passenger of the stored airbag so as to be stored from the seat back part of the seat to the seat cushion part, wherein, when the airbag is expanded and deployed, at least a portion of the tension fabric is configured so as to be deployed to the outside of this seat by the cleaving of the skin of the seat, in addition to being stretched from the position in the vicinity of the shoulder of the passenger in the seat back to the position on the front side of the vehicle on the side of the seat cushion, and wherein this tension fabric includes a part for holding the surface of the airbag opposite the passenger.
Passenger protection apparatus
A passenger protection apparatus for a vehicle includes: an inflator configured to generate gas upon receiving a predetermined actuating signal; and an airbag body folded and configured to deploy by supplying the gas from the inflator to the airbag body. The airbag body includes a predetermined area on which adhesive is applied. The predetermined area adheres to an adherend when the airbag body is deployed. An adhesive force of the adhesive is decreased by a predetermined action.
Occupant restraint system
A restraint system for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle having a side structure and a cabin with a seat for the occupant includes an airbag having a stored condition outboard of the occupant. The airbag is inflatable to a deployed condition positioned between the occupant and the vehicle side structure. The airbag extends in a forward-rearward direction from a first end positioned in front of the occupant to a second end positioned behind the occupant such that a torso and head of the occupant are laterally aligned with the second end when the seat is placed in a reclined position.
Adaptive force vehicle airbag system
An adaptive force vehicle airbag (AFVA) system includes airbag(s) stowed in a compressed state within an interior of a vehicle. An impact sensor detects a change in motion of the vehicle indicative of a collision. Selectable force gas generator(s) (SFGGs) gas-generating propellant cells that are individually fired. The SFGGs have conduit(s) that receive gas from fired gas-generating propellant cells and direct the gas to inflate at least one of the airbag(s). A controller is communicatively coupled to the inflation initiating component and the gas-generating propellant cells of the SFGGs. The controller enables the AFVA system to: (i) receive an inflation signal from the impact sensor; and (ii) fire a selected number of the gas-generating propellant cells to at least partially inflate the at least one airbag.
Airbag device
The airbag device protects the occupant seated in the vehicle seat disposed in the vehicle. An airbag device includes a first airbag group and a second airbag group that are disposed in the vehicle seat in correspondence with impacts from two different directions and that respectively include a plurality of airbags; a gas generation unit that is disposed in a seat cushion, of the vehicle seat, that supports the buttocks region of the occupant and that generates gas to be supplied to the first airbag group or the second airbag group; and a switching unit that switches the supply of gas to either the first airbag group or the second airbag group.
OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
An occupant protection device for a vehicle includes right and left bag bodies and an inflator. The right and left bag bodies are accommodated along at least both right and left side portions of a seat back portion of a seat of the vehicle. Each of the right and left bag bodies is configured to be deployed between both ends thereof fixed to the seat. The inflator is configured to deploy the right and left bag bodies. Each of the right and left bag bodies is accommodated in a state of being wound with the both ends located outside. The right and left bag bodies are configured to be deployed in such a manner that the right and left bag bodies are unwound from a state of being accommodated to reach positions in front of an upper body of an occupant to be seated on the seat.
MODULE BASE ELEMENT FOR A VEHICLE OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM AND VEHICLE OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM
The present disclosure describes a module base element for a vehicle occupant protection system comprising at least one module carrier for receiving at least one airbag module, wherein the airbag module comprises at least one airbag and the airbag is connected to a gas source, especially a gas generator, and comprising a hinged arm having at least one hinged element so that the module carrier can be moved from an idle position to an operating position and from an operating position to an idle position, and comprising a lap restraint element. The present disclosure further describes a vehicle occupant protection system for protecting a vehicle occupant in a vehicle seat comprising at least one restraint element, wherein at least one restraint element of the vehicle occupant protection system is disposed in a module base element according to the present disclosure.
Airbag device, vehicle seat, and ignition method for airbag device
For example, even when an occupant is seated offset in a left-right direction, an airbag is reliably expanded and deployed. An airbag device contains: an airbag that protects at least a side portion of a shoulder region, upper arm region, and chest region of an occupant seated on a vehicle seat; and an inflator that supplies gas to the airbag. The airbag has a pair of side part protection chambers that are housed on at least both left and right sides of the vehicle seat. The side part protection chambers, when expanded and deployed, expand and deploy forward independently from both left and right sides of the vehicle seat. A pair of the inflators are provided to allow gas to be supplied to each side part protection chamber, and the ignition timing of the inflators can be controlled separately.
Apparatus for operating airbag of autonomous vehicle and control method thereof
An apparatus for operating an airbag of an autonomous vehicle may include: an interior image sensor configured to capture an interior image of a vehicle; an input unit configured to receive collision prediction information from an autonomous driving system and the interior image from the interior image sensor; an airbag module installed at the front and side of the interior of the vehicle, and configured to deploy an airbag; and an airbag control unit configured to estimate the sitting position and dynamic behavior of the passenger from the interior image inputted from the input unit, estimate a collision status from the collision prediction information, determine an airbag to be deployed and a time to deploy the airbag according to the sitting position, and then output a deployment signal to the airbag module.
Side airbag for vehicle
A side airbag for a vehicle includes: a main cushion located at a seat of the vehicle and configured to be unfolded at a front side of a passenger to a front of the vehicle when gas is injected into the main cushion; a sub cushion connected to a front-end portion of the main cushion and configured to be unfolded from the front-end portion of the main cushion toward the passenger when gas is injected into the sub cushion; a support tether having a first end connected to the seat and a second end connected to the sub cushion so as to support the sub cushion; and a cushion cover surrounding both the main cushion and the sub cushion, and having a tether slit through which the support tether passes.
