11001231 · 2021-05-11 · ·

An apparatus includes an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive video frames comprising at least one of a vehicle or an outdoor environment near the vehicle and a correction signal. The processor may be configured to perform video operations on the video frames to detect objects, predict a state of the vehicle based on the objects detected in the video frames and generate the correction signal. The correction signal may be configured to apply a corrective measure based on the predicted state of the vehicle. The state of the vehicle may be predicted when the vehicle is parked in the outdoor environment. The state of the vehicle may comprise factors that prevent driving the vehicle.

In certain example embodiments, moisture sensors, defoggers, etc., and/or related methods, are provided. More particularly, certain example embodiments relate to moisture sensors and/or defoggers that may be used in various applications such as, for example, refrigerator/freezer merchandisers, vehicle windows, building windows, etc. When condensation or moisture is detected, an appropriate action may be taken (e.g., actuating windshield wipers, turning on a defroster, triggering the heating of a merchandiser door or window, etc.). Bayesian approaches optionally may be implemented in certain example embodiments in an attempt to improve moisture detection accuracy. For instance, models of various types of disturbances may be developed and, based on live data and a priori information known about the model, a probability of the model being accurate is calculated. If a threshold value is met, the model may be considered a match and, optionally, a corresponding appropriate action may be taken.

WIPER BLADE AND VEHICLE WIPER DEVICE

A wiper blade wipes a wiping surface. The wiper blade includes a blade rubber that is disposed in contact with the wiping surface, a wiper case that holds the blade rubber, and a state changing member that is accommodated in the wiper case and rotatable in the wiper case. The state changing member is rotatable in the wiper case or movable in a longitudinal direction. The state changing member is configured to change a curved form or rigidity in the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade in accordance with a curved form of the wiping surface when a rotational position or a longitudinal position of the state changing member is changed.

Photographing apparatus for vehicle and heating device

A photographing apparatus for vehicle includes a photographing apparatus, heating means, and a control device. The photographing apparatus is disposed inside a vehicle so as to face a window of the vehicle and is configured to receive photographing light passing through the window. The heating means is disposed inside the vehicle so as to face the window. The heating means generates heat that is given to the window when voltage of an electric power source of the vehicle is applied to the heating means. The control device changes voltage application time that is time period for applying the voltage of the electric power source to the heating means so that a total amount of heat generated by the heating means for a predetermined period of time is coincident with a predetermined amount determined based at least on an outside air temperature.

SENSOR CLEANING DEVICE

Provided is a sensor cleaning device. The sensor cleaning device is configured to clean a sensor mounted on a vehicle. The sensor cleaning device includes a housing having an opening, a protection member movably disposed with respect to the opening, and a cleaning member mounted around the opening and disposed in close contact with the protection member. Also provided is a method of controlling a sensor cleaning device. The method is performed by a controller configured to control an operation of a motor and a nozzle of the sensor cleaning device. The method includes 1) detecting a first contamination of a protection member configured to protect an environmental sensor and disposed to be movable by the motor; 2) spraying a washer fluid to the protection member; 3) and driving the motor so that the protection member is wiped by a cleaning member disposed in contact with the protection member.

A rain sensor includes: a substrate, a first sensor that is disposed on a first surface of the substrate and that senses a sound signal; a second sensor disposed on a second surface of the substrate and attached to windshield glass of the vehicle to sense a capacitance change; and a processor that determines precipitation, based on at least one of the sound signal or the capacitance change.

Method for assisting a user in the operation of a motor vehicle and motor-vehicle-external data server device
11055992 · 2021-07-06 · ·

The disclosure relates to a method for assisting a user of a first motor vehicle in the operation of the first motor vehicle, which is located in a geographic region. A motor-vehicle-external data server device (16) divides the geographic region into a plurality of geographic sectors. A sensor device of a second motor vehicle, which is also located in the region, detects at least one measurement value, and a control device of the second motor vehicle transmits a sensor signal describing the measurement value to the motor-vehicle-external data server device. The motor-vehicle-external data server device receives a request signal from the first motor vehicle, which, at the time at which the request signal is transmitted, is not prepared to detect a measurement value of the same type. If the motor-vehicle-external data service device determines that the motor vehicles are located within the same geographic sector, the motor-vehicle-external data service device transmits the sensor signal to the first motor vehicle.
